Description
Professor Isaac Gilmore is a scientist specializing in cybernetics who appears in 009 Re:Cyborg. He is the lead researcher of the 00 Cyborg program, an initiative run by the criminal arms organization Black Ghost to transform human beings into enhanced superhuman weapons. Gilmore originally works within the organization as a dutiful and capable scientist, but he secretly distrusts Black Ghost's goals. As the program continues, his unease grows; in some portrayals his doubts become serious around the time one of the cyborgs is fitted with an inferior component because the organization wants to cut costs. After the cybernetic enhancements for the nine 00 cyborgs are completed, Gilmore deliberately lets himself be taken hostage by them, effectively defecting from Black Ghost. From that point he serves as the group's mentor, strategist, and moral anchor, helping the cyborgs escape the organization and later guiding them through the dangers they face.
