Description
Kikue Sakuragawa is a supporting character in the anime Place to Place. She serves as a teacher at Nekoge Prefectural High School, where the main cast of students attends. Physically, she has round green eyes and purple hair, which features streaks or lowlights of a darker shade, giving it a multicolored appearance. Her typical attire as an educator is simple and consists of a vest, a button-down shirt, and a long skirt, a style choice often associated with her profession.

In terms of personality, Kikue is known for being kind and gentle toward her students, even going so far as to give them gifts on occasion. She shares a similar sweet and somewhat clumsy disposition with her student, Hime Haruno. Despite her kindness, she is also shown to become frustrated when she feels that someone is being disruptive. A significant and recurring aspect of her character is her profound loneliness and her strong, desperate desire to find a boyfriend. She reacts very poorly to this topic being brought up, becoming angry when her friend teases her about it and sinking into depression when one of her students mentions it.

Kikue's role in the story is that of a minor supporting character, appearing in a limited number of episodes. Her primary function within the narrative is to interact with the main group of students from an adult perspective, often participating in school-related events or providing a different dynamic in comedic scenes. While she is an authority figure, her own personal struggles make her a relatable and often sympathetic presence, rather than a strict disciplinarian.

Her key relationships include a friendship with Miiko Inui, the older sister of student Sakaki Inui and owner of a local cake shop. It is stated that Miiko is a friend of hers and it is hinted that they visit each other often. Through this connection, she is also acquainted with her students, including Io Otonashi, Tsumiki Miniwa, Mayoi Katase, Hime Haruno, and Sakaki Inui, among others. Her interactions with them are generally warm, though her friend Miiko is the one who frequently teases her about her lack of a romantic partner. She does not experience significant character development or a personal story arc over the course of the series, remaining a static character who provides support and comic relief. Regarding notable abilities, Kikue does not possess any special skills or powers, and is depicted as an ordinary high school teacher.
