Description
Owen Kaios is a supporting character in the anime Danbōru Senki W. He is an adult man with blonde or yellow hair cut to neck length and gray eyes, and he holds a position of significant authority in the story's world. Owen is the director of NICS, the Neo International Cosmic Section, a governmental computer security and space administration institute located in N City of Nation A. He is also the father of Jessica Kaios, a young woman who serves as an instructor and data analyst for the main characters.
As the head of NICS, Owen acts as the adult authority figure behind the scenes of the main conflict. His organization becomes the base of operations and support body for the young LBX pilots and their allies as they work to combat the organization known as the Detector, and NICS also becomes involved in the effort to locate characters who have been taken. Owen assists this group throughout their campaign, with his most active contributions being the funding of their operations and the provision of a Duck Shuttle transport to move them where they need to go. Though he is not a front-line LBX pilot himself, his decisions and the resources of his institute allow the younger characters to carry out their missions.
In personality, Owen is portrayed as a calm, composed, and wise leader. He is marked by quick and accurate judgment and tends to remain level-headed even in difficult situations. He is cautious by nature, taking precautions before acting rather than rushing into decisions, and he is receptive to cooperation, accepting any support that can help his organization achieve its goals. He is generally kind and approachable, but he can be stern when circumstances demand firmness, and his manner reflects the seriousness of his position. His relationship with his daughter balances these traits: he is a positive and caring father to Jessica while still carrying himself with the authority expected of a director.
Owen's primary motivations are tied to his sense of duty as the leader of a major government institution. He recognizes the threat posed by the Detector and the need to back the LBX pilots who are best able to confront it, and he commits the resources and manpower of NICS to that cause. His judgment and caution also guide how he manages the risks involved in the operation.
His key relationships are defined by his roles as a father and as an administrator. With Jessica, he shares a warm family bond, and he supports her work alongside the pilots. With the Yamano group, he functions as a dependable coordinator who trusts the young fighters with critical responsibilities, supplying them with funding, transportation, and organizational backing. Within NICS itself, he oversees the personnel and systems that support the broader investigation.
Owen's notable abilities are those of leadership and strategy rather than combat. He demonstrates strong decision-making, the ability to assess situations quickly and accurately, and the organizational skill to direct a large governmental agency. His influence on the story comes through his authority, his resources, and his steady presence as a figure of responsibility behind the heroes' actions.
