Aioros de Sagitário is one of the twelve Gold Saints, a guardian of the Sanctuary whose destiny is tied to the constellation of Sagittarius. When the Gemini Saint Saga, driven by his evil side, attempted to murder the infant reincarnation of the goddess Athena, Aioros intervened. He rescued the baby and fled the Sanctuary while being pursued. Mortally wounded by Shura of Capricorn, who believed the false accusation that Aioros was a traitor, he nevertheless managed to entrust the infant Athena and his Sagittarius Gold Cloth to a guardian. This act of martyrdom sets the story in motion, though he was posthumously branded a traitor. His soul and will continue to reside within the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, guiding the next generation of Saints. His spirit reappears alongside other deceased Gold Saints to combine their cosmos and destroy the Wailing Wall.
