In the CGI film Saint Seiya: Legend of Sanctuary, Aquarius is a Gold Saint portrayed as a 32-year-old warrior who commands the chilling power of absolute zero. His personality is defined by a calm and composed demeanor, remaining unflustered even in the heat of battle. As in many versions of the story, he is the teacher of Cygnus Hyoga, one of the Bronze Saints. Due to the film's condensed runtime, which streamlined much of the Bronze Saints' backstory, this master-student relationship is presented succinctly; upon their reunion, their shared history is acknowledged without extensive flashbacks to their training days in Siberia.

In his role within the narrative, Aquarius serves as a crucial guardian during the assault on the Twelve Temples. He confronts Hyoga directly, acting as the final trial his student must overcome. His motivations are rooted in a teacher's stern affection: rather than simply allowing Hyoga to pass, he seeks to test the young saint's resolve. Aquarius is depicted with a unique armor design for this film. The Aquarius Gold Cloth features a notable shoulder cannon that, when entering battle mode, bends forward to target the enemy. This cannon collects cold air, which is then channeled to fire his signature attack. His primary and most powerful technique is the Aurora Execution, a freezing blast that he unleashes in a final confrontation with Hyoga. The two fighters execute the same move against each other in a dramatic standoff. Following the battle, Aquarius accepts his defeat and places a hand on his student's shoulder, instructing him to proceed to Athena's side, thus fulfilling his role as a mentor who gives his life to ensure the next generation can carry on the fight.
