TV-Series
Description
Nova is the young head of the Cups division within the Arcana Famiglia and one of the main characters in the series. He is the cousin and childhood friend of Felicità, to whom he was once betrothed, though he later called off the engagement. Born with an innate contract to the Arcana card Death, Nova has blue hair and blue eyes, a short stature that is even below Felicità’s height, and his stigmata is located on the back of his neck. He typically wears a black suit with a blue tie and carries a katana at his side.

His background is marked by a tragedy that occurred when he was eight years old. Discovering that his own parents were plotting to assassinate Mondo and Sumire, the heads of the Famiglia, Nova turned against them in a fit of rage and used the power of his Death Arcana to force them into an endless slumber. After this event, he returned his engagement ring to Mondo and Sumire, believing he had become undeserving of being their son. This traumatic incident shaped much of his personality and motivations.

Nova is generally a very serious, strict, and stoic individual who appears cold and emotionless on the surface. He prioritizes his work and the welfare of the Family above all else, often staying in his office to handle duties rather than engaging in leisure activities. He is utterly devoted and loyal to Mondo and Sumire, and will not tolerate anyone who dares to tarnish their name. Despite his reserved demeanor, he has an immature and easily flustered side that Libertà frequently draws out during their arguments. He and Libertà often bicker, which reveals a more talkative and passionate aspect of his character. His calm, quiet nature makes him seem unapproachable, but those close to him know he is deeply caring and protective.

Motivated by his loyalty to Felicità and his guilt over his past actions, Nova supports her in the Arcana Duello, the tournament that Mondo creates to decide the next head of the Famiglia and Felicità’s future husband. Nova fights alongside Felicità and Libertà to help her choose her own path rather than being forced into marriage. His role in the story is that of a dedicated member of the Famiglia, a close ally to Felicità, and a participant in the tournament who must reconcile his past with his present responsibilities.

Key relationships include his bond with Felicità, whom he cares for deeply despite having ended their engagement; his respectful and trusting relationship with Mondo and Sumire, who rely on him; and his dynamic with Libertà, who teases him and sparks his hidden immature side. His character development revolves around confronting the trauma of his childhood, learning to forgive himself, and opening up emotionally to those around him.

In terms of abilities, Nova wields the Arcana Death, which grants him the power to put people into a deep sleep. He is also a skilled swordsman, and his Arcana sign appears on the back of his neck. As the head of the Cups division, he holds a position of responsibility within the organization, reflecting his competence and trustworthiness despite his young age.
