Description
Akram is a central figure in the Harukanaru Toki no Naka de series, serving as the primary antagonist in the first two games and appearing in related animated works such as Ajisai Yumegatari. He is the chief of the Oni clan, also referred to as the Demon Clan, a race that has suffered historical persecution at the hands of humanity. This tragic history is the bedrock of his motivations and shapes his cold, resolute worldview.

Standing at 182 centimeters with long blond hair often tied back, Akram possesses a commanding and aristocratic presence. He frequently wears an eye mask, which is not merely a fashion choice but a hereditary magical artifact that amplifies his innate abilities and signifies his authority as clan leader. His personality is marked by confidence, ruthlessness, and a pragmatic cruelty that views even loyal subordinates as expendable tools for achieving his goals. Driven by a deep-seated desire for revenge against those who wronged his people, his primary objective is to eradicate humanity and reshape the capital, Kyou, under his own rule.

In the narrative, Akram is a master manipulator who operates from the shadows to orchestrate his plans. In the first game, he locates and enslaves the Black Dragon Priestess, using her power to subdue the Four Gods and forcibly summon the White Dragon Priestess, Akane Motomiya. He initially tempts her with the promise of returning home but is refused, choosing to let her grow stronger as he believes she will eventually serve his purpose. Throughout the conflict, he deploys vengeful spirits and curses to cripple the capital and hinder his enemies. When his plans are threatened, he does not hesitate to sacrifice his own minions, demonstrating his single-minded dedication to conquest. After being defeated and cast one hundred years into the future, he continues his schemes in Harukanaru Toki no Naka de 2, manipulating a new priestess, Karin Takakura, and his enemies alike to perfect a catastrophic summoning known as the Night Parade of One Hundred Demons.

His relationships are defined by his quest for power. He views the White Dragon Priestesses primarily as instruments to be controlled or cultivated. His interactions with Akane are complex, marked by manipulation and a possessive claim, yet a potential romantic route reveals a different facet of his character. If the protagonist chooses to understand him, she can learn the painful history of his clan, and Akram shows a rare moment of vulnerability, admitting his despair and even expressing endearment for her. This path offers a glimpse of development where his rigid exterior cracks, though his core motivations remain rooted in the suffering of his people. His subordinates, such as Shirin, who sacrifices herself to save him from the Black Dragon, and Ikutidaru, who questions his orders, serve to highlight his unforgiving leadership style.

Akram wields considerable power, combining masterful swordsmanship with potent dark magic. He is capable of defeating divine beings like the Black Kirins with ease, creating powerful barriers, and stealing sacred artifacts. His signature ability involves summoning and controlling onryou, vengeful spirits, to do his bidding. The magical mask he wears is crucial to his power, enhancing his natural abilities to a formidable degree; its destruction during a confrontation leaves him significantly weakened, revealing his dependence on the artifact. Despite this reliance, his tactical brilliance and overwhelming ambition make him a nearly unstoppable force driven by a personal crusade for vengeance and absolute control.
