Description
Arche Klein is a seventeen-year-old half-elf who resides with her father, Bart, in a house near Lone Valley. Her mother is an elf named Luti, from whom she was separated due to the isolationist policies of the elf colony. Arche was led to believe her mother was dead, a falsehood that weighs on her when she discovers the truth later in her journey. She has pink hair and magenta eyes, and stands 157 centimeters tall. As a half-elf, her pointed ears are described as slight and barely noticeable. Despite being a half-elf, a heritage that is more accepted during the time of her adventure than in other eras, she still faces discrimination, most notably being forbidden from entering the elf colony in Ymir Forest because of her mixed blood.

Arche has a temperamental and blunt personality, often coming across as dramatic or whiny, but she generally means well and struggles to express herself properly. She is a loyal and protective friend, demonstrated when she shoves Mint out of the path of a petrification spell and is turned to stone herself. While she can be forgiving, she is also capable of holding grudges for extended periods. Her nature is lighthearted; she enjoys teasing and pranking others, but she also possesses a thoughtful and intelligent side. This is evident when she questions whether Dhaos's plans are truly as evil as they seem, a moment of insight that surprises her companions. Furthermore, she is one of the few people in the party who can read ancient stones inscribed with primal Elven lore. Arche is quite forward and can be flirtatious, with a slightly perverted sense of humor, such as when she comments on Mint's figure. Despite her impulsive and sometimes silly antics, she is a skilled and fast caster of offensive magic.

Motivated initially by a desire to help avenge her friend, Arche chooses to join Cress Albane, Mint Adenade, and Claus F. Lester on their quest after the spirit of her friend Rhea Scarlet is laid to rest. Her role in the story is that of a powerful magic user, providing essential offensive support to the party. Because only elves and half-elves can use magic in this era, her abilities are critical to the party's success. Her personal motivations become more complex as the journey progresses, particularly concerning her family. The discovery that her mother is alive but living in the elf colony, a place she is barred from entering, deeply affects her. She feels forlorn at being excluded and even attempts to sneak into the colony, risking severe punishment, in a desperate attempt to see her mother. This situation fuels her sympathy for others who suffer under the elves' strict isolation rules, such as Brambert and Arsia.

Arche shares several key relationships within the party. She argues incessantly with the archer Chester Burklight, but this bickering masks deeper, hinted romantic feelings that she tries to hide. She has a habit of teasing him and the two frequently clash, yet she shows concern for his well-being. With Cress, she initially flirts in a half-joking manner, but this dynamic evolves into a strong friendship based on mutual trust. She is protective of Mint, the group's healer, and the two share a close bond. Her relationship with her father, Bart, is complicated by his lie about her mother's death, but she eventually comes to understand his reasons. Her development throughout the story sees her confront the pain of her heritage, the reality of her mother's situation, and her own feelings for Chester. She matures from a seemingly whiny girl into a more introspective individual who can challenge the party's assumptions about their enemy. In the future timeline, she demonstrates further growth by helping Brambert realize that staying with Arsia's statue out of penance is more harmful than helpful, showing her capacity for empathy and wisdom.

Arche is defined by her notable abilities as a witch. Her signature skill is the ability to fly on her broomstick, which grants her a tactical advantage in battle by keeping her out of reach of many land-bound enemies. She is a remarkably fast caster of spells, making her a deadly offensive force, especially when equipped with items that reduce casting time. Her magical repertoire includes powerful spells of various attributes, such as Fireball, Thunder Blade, and the devastating Ray. As a half-elf, her magical talent is inherent and significant. Outside of combat, she is notorious for her terrible cooking skills, though she is surprisingly capable of making desserts, and she harbors a great fondness for melon bread.
