Movie
Description
Dai is the central protagonist of his story, a twelve-year-old boy with black hair and dark-colored eyes who was raised on the remote Delmurin Island. His upbringing was unique, as he was adopted and cared for by Brass, a well-meaning monster magician who became his adoptive grandfather. As a result, Dai grew up as the only human surrounded by friendly monsters, which shaped much of his early worldview and personality. His real name, given by his birth parents, is Dino.
Living in such an isolated environment, Dai developed a pure and energetic nature. He is fundamentally kind, brave, and possesses an indomitable spirit and a very strong sense of justice. Due to his lack of contact with human society, he can be quite naive and straightforward, often assuming the best intentions in people he meets, which sometimes leaves him unable to discern hidden motives or deceit. However, this innocence is balanced by a mischievous side and, most importantly, a core of immense courage. This courage is often described as his defining trait, as he refuses to back down from a fight regardless of how powerful his opponent might be, always striving to overcome any obstacle in his path. He deeply cherishes his monster family on Delmurin Island, treating them as his true kin, and is devastated when they are turned evil by outside forces.
Dai’s primary driving motivation is his lifelong dream of becoming a true hero. This dream crystallizes into a concrete goal when the Dark Lord Hadlar is resurrected, threatening the peace of the world. After meeting and training under the legendary hero Avan, Dai inherits his master's will to fight for justice and sets out on a journey to avenge Avan and defeat the evil forces of the Dark Army, including the Great Demon Lord Vearn. His role in the story is that of the rising hero destined to confront this ultimate evil.
Throughout his journey, Dai forms several profound relationships that influence his growth. His closest companion is Popp, a fellow disciple of Avan. Despite Popp's initial cowardice, the two quickly develop a strong, brotherly bond and become best friends, with their contrasting personalities complementing each other. He also shares a special connection with Princess Leona of Papnica. Initially surprised by her blunt and direct personality, which differed from his image of a princess, he grows to respect her resolve and develops strong feelings of loyalty and affection for her. Dai deeply admires his master, Avan, who serves as his lifelong role model. Another significant relationship is with his biological father, Baran, the Dragon Knight, whose legacy is intrinsically tied to Dai's own hidden powers. Over the course of his adventure, Dai matures from a naive island boy into a determined and responsible hero, though he often remains stubborn and reckless in his determination to protect others, sometimes to his own detriment.
Regarding his abilities, Dai is a formidable fighter with exceptional swordsmanship. Despite Brass's efforts to train him as a wizard, Dai has virtually no talent for magic and struggles to cast even basic spells; his magical power only seems to manifest in moments of intense anger or emotional distress,. His true strength lies in his physical prowess and the mastery of the Avan Style Sword Techniques, which he learns from his master. These techniques include Earth Slash, an attack of immense power; Wave Slash, a speed-based strike capable of cutting through spells; and Air Slash, which involves manipulating the Aura of Light. The ultimate technique of this style, which combines the previous three, is the Avan Strash. Dai’s most significant power, however, is inherited from his father, Baran. As a hybrid child of the Dragon Knight lineage, he possesses a secret, incredible dormant power. This power is often signified by the appearance of a dragon crest on his forehead, which grants him superhuman strength and enhanced abilities in times of great need.
