Description
Chibiusa, also known as Princess Usagi Small Lady Serenity, is a central figure in the Sailor Moon SuperS narrative. She is the daughter of Neo-Queen Serenity and King Endymion, the rulers of Crystal Tokyo in the 30th century, and has traveled back in time to the 20th century. In the present, she lives with her future mother, the teenage Usagi Tsukino, and Usagi's family. Despite being over 900 years old due to the extended lifespan granted by the Silver Crystal, Chibiusa retains the physical appearance and emotional maturity of a child around elementary school age.

Chibiusa's personality is a complex blend of childish petulance and a deep-seated desire to be seen as mature and capable. She is often energetic, extroverted, and outgoing, but can also be spoiled, bratty, and prone to bickering, especially with Usagi. Their relationship is frequently more akin to squabbling sisters than a traditional mother-daughter dynamic, filled with constant arguments and playful insults. However, beneath this rivalry lies a profound, if often unspoken, admiration and love for Usagi. She has an awkward Electra complex, showing a clear and often comedic attachment to her future father, Mamoru (Tuxedo Mask), which she openly uses to tease and provoke Usagi. Her primary motivation throughout her time in the past is to grow strong enough to become a worthy Sailor Guardian and a graceful lady, much like the powerful queen her mother will become.

In the Sailor Moon SuperS season, Chibiusa steps into the role of deuteragonist, and the story becomes largely centered on her development. Her primary role is as the human confidant and partner to Pegasus, also known as Helios, the guardian of the Golden Crystal. When Pegasus hides from the Dead Moon Circus within Chibiusa's dream, she becomes the sole individual capable of summoning him. This connection allows the Sailor Guardians to access the power needed to defeat their new enemies, making Chibiusa instrumental to the team's success. Her relationship with Helios is the emotional heart of the season, blossoming into a pure and romantic connection as they come to trust and protect one another. This bond grants her the power to transform into Super Sailor Chibi Moon, a more advanced form that reflects her growing strength and maturity. Her key relationships also deepen with her future parents; she secretly admires Usagi's strength, and her protective instincts toward Chibiusa often bring out a fierce maternal side in the usually carefree Usagi.

Over the course of SuperS, Chibiusa undergoes notable development. While she continues to clash with Usagi, she demonstrates increasing courage and a willingness to protect others. Her connection to Pegasus forces her to confront her own insecurities and her deepest desires, ultimately leading to a greater sense of self-assurance. As a fighter, her role becomes significantly more prominent. Her notable abilities within this season include her primary attack, the mostly distracting Pink Sugar Heart Attack, and her more powerful signature move as Super Sailor Chibi Moon, the Twinkle Yell. She also performs powerful combination attacks with Sailor Moon, such as the Double Rainbow Moon Heart Ache and the Moon Gorgeous Meditation, which are vital for dispatching the enemies of the Dead Moon Circus.
