TV-Series
Description
Hort, a Beastfallen of deer lineage, possesses a more human-like appearance than others of her kind. Born with antlers, she suffered their forcible removal by the Church during childhood under threat of execution, denounced as demonic horns. Orphaned young, she was later recruited by the Church's extremist faction, Dia Ignis, as a spy to infiltrate Wenias's Royal Academy of Magic.
As a third-year student, Hort achieves consistent top academic performance, contrasting with classmate Saybil's struggles. She demonstrates proficiency in standard magical spells, developing a particular affinity for the offensive spell Flagis, which she refines under guidance from its creator. Unbeknownst to her peers initially, she harbors latent demonic powers of significant destructive potential, lacking control or full awareness of their extent.
Her espionage mission creates internal conflict as she forms genuine bonds with classmates and respects Headmaster Albus, who offers post-graduation employment. This conflict culminates when the witch hunter Tyrant exposes her allegiance during an ambush, forcing her confession to Saybil and Kudo. She rejects the Church's ideology, refusing to manipulate witches for execution and choosing to protect her friends. Following this confrontation, she graduates and accepts a position researching Remnants of Disaster at the Forbidden Library alongside Saybil and Kudo.
Her character evolves from concealing her background to openly embracing her identity. Post-graduation missions involve diplomatic expeditions to the New World, where she confronts societal oppression and participates in refugee protection efforts. She also engages in research on illegal mana potions and contends with political conflicts in the northern regions near Niedora Fort. Throughout these experiences, her relationships deepen: she values mentorship under Loux Krystas for magical knowledge and maintains a collaborative partnership with Saybil and Kudo during field operations and library research.
