Born with antlers, she suffered their forcible removal by the Church during childhood under threat of execution, denounced as demonic horns. Orphaned young, she was later recruited by the Church's extremist faction, Dia Ignis, as a spy to infiltrate Wenias's Royal Academy of Magic.

As a third-year student, Hort achieves consistent top academic performance, contrasting with classmate Saybil's struggles. She demonstrates proficiency in standard magical spells, developing a particular affinity for the offensive spell Flagis, which she refines under guidance from its creator. Unbeknownst to her peers initially, she harbors latent demonic powers of significant destructive potential, lacking control or full awareness of their extent.
