Description
Black Emperor appears as the main antagonist in the second Kinnikuman film, Great Riot! Justice Chojin. He serves as the formidable leader of the Black Army, a powerful faction of Cho-jin with the ambitious goal of conquering planets to expand their dark empire. His primary target is Earth, and to achieve this, he devises a scheme to claim the Champion Belt, a symbol that would prove his might over all Earth’s Justice Cho-jin.
As a character, Black Emperor is portrayed as an evil and despotic ruler who commands his own dark empire. His personality is defined by a cruel and dishonorable nature, showing a willingness to betray his own allies without hesitation to get what he wants. He typically maintains a cool and stoic demeanor, though this facade can crack when he overreacts to the antics of his rival, Kinnikuman.
His primary motivation is conquest and the defeat of Kinnikuman. He sees the protagonist as the main obstacle to his invasion of Earth. To this end, he is manipulative and opportunistic. He takes advantage of Shishkeba Boo’s desire to defeat Kinnikuman, using the situation to further his own plans for world domination.
In the story, Black Emperor commands his Black Army to launch a coordinated assault on Earth, sending his forces to attack the various Idol Cho-jin, including Warsman, Ramenman, and Robin Mask. After Shishkeba Boo weakens Kinnikuman in battle, Black Emperor reveals his treachery and takes matters into his own hands. In a particularly cruel move, he captures Bibimba and her father, placing them on a boulder surrounded by a lake of fire, forcing Kinnikuman to walk through the flames to save them. This plan ultimately fails when other Justice Cho-jin, such as Terryman and Warsman, arrive to assist. Later, after Buffaloman defeats the Black Satan corps, Black Emperor finally faces Kinnikuman in a direct confrontation.
Regarding key relationships, Black Emperor has no true allies. He manipulates Shishkeba Boo as a pawn to serve his invasion plans. His central relationship is as an enemy to Kinnikuman and the assembled Justice Cho-jin, whom he seeks to exterminate. He also commands the members of the Black Army and the elite Black Satan corps.
Black Emperor does not undergo a redemption arc or significant development. He remains a villainous force throughout the film, serving as the final obstacle for the heroes. His story concludes with his death, as he is ultimately defeated and killed by Kinnikuman in their final battle.
Notable abilities possessed by Black Emperor stem from his Cho-jin physiology, granting him superhuman strength, speed, and durability. Like many Cho-jin, he can fly without wings and grow to the size of a building. His signature power is the Burning Inferno, which allows him to generate and control immensely hot fire. He uses this ability to transform a rocky battlefield into a massive fire pit and can also engulf his own body in flames to burn his opponents on contact.
