Description
Shinpu, known as “Father” or the “Killer Priest,” serves as a priest in a village church that doubles as a training ground. Once a member of the Arbiters—a merciless Church faction dedicated to eradicating witches and sorcerers—he abandoned his violent past to adopt a quieter role, though his calm, stoic exterior occasionally cracks to reveal remnants of his coldblooded history.

Blinded by severe photosensitivity, he shrouds his eyes in black cloth by day, discarding it only under night’s cover. His disability does not impede his uncanny ability to dissect micro-expressions or detect lies, skills refined during his Arbiter years, which render him a fearsome interrogator capable of extracting vital secrets through meticulous observation.

Though fiercely protective of Lilly, a mouse beastfallen he treats as a daughter, his loyalties remain murky. He allies with Dia Ignis, a Church-aligned faction, and engineers the abduction of Holt, a student spy, luring others into a cave where they become trapped. This cave also holds Zero, a pivotal figure entangled in the village’s secrets, implicating Shinpu in the escalating clash between the Church and witch factions.

His journey from Arbiter enforcer to village guardian weaves a thread of moral ambiguity. While he pursues peace, his tactics still echo his brutal training, casting him as both protector and peril. Despite his reformation, actions such as Holt’s capture and Zero’s imprisonment blur the line between redemption and the ruthless instincts he struggles to bury, leaving his true intentions suspended in shadow.
