Description
Chelsea Fockel, also known as Chelsea Fokuro and by her royal title Princess Forte, is a main character in the original video animation series Guardian Hearts. She is introduced as a princess from a magical world, specifically the planet Liltt, who travels to Earth with a very specific personal mission. Unlike other characters who arrive as protectors or warriors, Chelsea's primary goal is to find a suitable husband, making her romantic pursuit a central aspect of her role in the series.

Chelsea's arrival on Earth is complicated by an accidental discovery. Shortly after her arrival, the human boy Kazuya Watari stumbles upon her true nature as a magical being. According to the traditions of her homeland, this accidental exposure is interpreted as a binding sign of fate. As a result, Chelsea immediately declares that Kazuya is her destined husband and decides to move into his residence, joining several other girls whose secrets he has also inadvertently uncovered. This decision is driven by a blend of rigid adherence to her culture and a genuine, albeit self-centered, romantic obsession.

In terms of personality, Chelsea is characterized by her intense fixation on Kazuya. She frequently loses herself in elaborate daydreams and fantasies about their future life together, often imagining scenarios that are far removed from the chaotic reality of the household. Her demeanor is generally confident and proactive when it comes to pursuing her goals, but she can also display frustration and resentment toward anyone she perceives as a rival. Her primary source of antagonism is the mysterious magical girl known as Guardian Hearts, who constantly foils her attempts to get closer to Kazuya. Chelsea holds a deep-seated grudge against this protector, unaware that Guardian Hearts is secretly Hina, another girl living in Kazuya's house and her main romantic competitor.

This rivalry defines Chelsea's role in the story's action. She often collaborates with two other supernatural girls, Maya the cosmic ninja and Kurusu the uniform thief, both of whom share her desire for revenge against Guardian Hearts. The trio believes that Guardian Hearts appears whenever Kazuya is getting along well with a girl, so they frequently devise schemes to lure her out, usually by leaving Hina alone with him. Through these alliances, Chelsea participates in much of the series' comedic conflict, though her efforts are consistently undermined by her own obliviousness and the chaotic nature of the situation.

Despite her enmity with Guardian Hearts, Chelsea does not have a straightforward relationship with the other residents of Kazuya's house. While she forms temporary alliances of convenience with Maya and Kurusu, these are often fragile and tense, as all the girls are ultimately rivals for Kazuya's attention. The household functions as a classic comedic harem setting, where Chelsea actively competes with Hina and the others, though she remains oblivious to Hina's secret identity.

Chelsea's development across the series is primarily explored through the lens of her romantic obsession and her interactions with her new home. One episode is specifically dedicated to her birthday, titled Chelseas magischer Geburtstag, which highlights her magical background and her desire for recognition. Her character arc does not involve a dramatic change in her personality but rather a reinforcement of her core traits as she adapts to life on Earth. Her affection for Kazuya remains her primary motivation, driving her to participate in school festivals and other events, all with the goal of securing his heart.

As a princess from another world, Chelsea possesses magical abilities, though the specifics of her power set are often played for comedy or overshadowed by her romantic scheming. Her magical nature is the reason she must hide her identity from humans, a rule that she breaks almost immediately upon meeting Kazuya. Her abilities are inherent to her status as Princess Forte, and her character frequently engages in the visual and comedic traditions of the magical girl genre, including transformation sequences and battles, though her primary weapon is often her relentless determination rather than overwhelming force.
