Description
Neptune, also referred to as Purple Heart in her goddess form, is the main protagonist of the OVA Hyperdimension Neptunia Hidamari no Little Purple. She is the Console Patron Unit (CPU) of Planeptune, a nation in the world of Gamindustri. In this OVA, Neptune and the other CPUs are caught in a battle against Arfoire, who summons a monster named Level Trick capable of leveling down its targets. During the fight, Purple Heart defends herself but the other three goddesses are struck by the beam and turned into children. Purple Heart then charges at Arfoire but is also hit, regressing into a child as well.
As a child, Neptune loses her memories and wanders into an eggplant farm where she meets a similarly young Arfoire, who has also been transformed. Despite her usual dislike of eggplants, Neptune eventually tries them in a pie prepared by Arfoire and finds them enjoyable. This experience becomes a key moment in the story, as the two form an unlikely bond. Neptune is initially stubborn and dislikes being told what to do, but she shows curiosity and a desire for companionship, asking Arfoire if she can stay with her forever. Her childlike innocence and playfulness are evident, though she retains a stubborn streak.
Later, when Level Trick reappears to further harm her, Neptune is saved by Arfoire but then receives a Share Crystal from her sister Nepgear and the other CPU candidates. This artifact restores her powers and allows her to achieve a new form, with which she defeats Level Trick and returns everyone to their adult selves. Afterward, Neptune thanks Arfoire for saving her, showing her gratitude and capacity for friendship even with former enemies.
In her adult form, Neptune is known for her laid-back, carefree personality, a sharp contrast to the calm and composed demeanor of Purple Heart. She is lazy, loves pudding, and dislikes work, but she is also loyal and brave when her friends are in danger. Her relationship with her sister Nepgear is close, and she works alongside the other CPUs and their candidates. Notable abilities include the Hard Drive Divinity transformation, which turns her into Purple Heart, granting increased combat power and a more serious attitude. In this OVA, she also briefly unlocks a new transformation to overcome Level Trick.
