Description
Midori Kuriyama appears in the fourth Case Closed film, Captured in Her Eyes, as the secretary of lawyer Eri Kisaki. She is a young paralegal who studied law in Tokyo and joined Kisaki’s firm shortly after Eri separated from Kogoro Mouri and established her own practice. In her role, she arrives early each day to tidy the office and organize the schedule, handling phone calls, client visits, and other administrative tasks that allow Eri to focus on courtroom work. Her personality is consistently warm and cheerful; she enjoys lighthearted conversation and playful teasing, especially with her boss, and she maintains a helpful, unflappable demeanor even under pressure.

In Captured in Her Eyes, Midori’s sole scene occurs when Conan Edogawa telephones Eri’s office, worried about Ran Mouri, who has become a target of a serial killer. Midori answers the call and informs Conan that Eri has already left for Tropical Land amusement park alongside Kogoro and Ran. This seemingly small piece of information is critical because it alerts Conan to the immediate danger Ran faces, propelling him into the park to protect her. Midori’s efficient, matter-of-fact response reflects her reliability as an assistant and her close familiarity with her employer’s schedule.

Beyond this film, Midori’s relationship with Eri is marked by mutual trust and familiarity. She often teases Eri about her lingering feelings for Kogoro, and she assists with case-related errands, occasionally accompanying Eri to court or helping gather information. She has no combat or investigative abilities; her value lies in her organizational skills, her perceptive nature, and her loyalty to those she works with. Over the course of the series, she evolves from a minor movie-only character into a recurring figure in both the manga and television episodes, though her role remains that of a supportive background presence.
