Description
Ramia is a resident of the magical kingdom of Juraihelm and one of the main antagonists across the Magical Girl Pretty Sammy anime works, which include the original video series and the television series Magical Project S. She is introduced as one of the final candidates to become the kingdom's next queen, but the selection goes to her rival Tsunami instead of to her. This rejection by the kingdom's priests is the event that shapes nearly everything she does afterward. She appears as an adult woman with yellow eyes; her OVA design gives her red hair, while her television version has long purple hair reaching to her waist.
In terms of motivation, Ramia wants the throne badly and cannot accept that Tsunami was chosen over her. She regards Tsunami as a carefree and irresponsible figure with weak magical ability, and she convinces herself that Juraihelm would suffer under Tsunami's rule. In practice, her reasoning is heavily colored by jealousy, arrogance, and wounded pride, and her response to losing the candidacy is to sabotage Tsunami's path to the crown rather than to accept the decision gracefully.
