Non Gou is a character from the anime Majokko Megu-chan. She is a young witch from the Witch World and one of the candidates for the throne of the magic realm. Non is the primary rival of the protagonist, Megu Kanzaki. She has blue skin and blue hair, and is described as one of the most powerful sorcerers of the Witch World. Her personality is cool, detached, and almost devoid of emotion, which stands in sharp contrast to Megu’s warm and impulsive nature. Non is highly intelligent, excels in both academics and athletics, and tends to look down on humans, viewing them as inferior.

Non’s central motivation is to become the next queen of the Witch World. She approaches this goal with a cold, calculating demeanor and believes that emotional weakness disqualifies Megu from the contest. From her very first meeting with Megu, Non attempts to eliminate her, setting a precedent for the intense rivalry between them. Throughout the series, Non repeatedly challenges Megu, using her formidable magical abilities to try to defeat her. However, as the story progresses, Non begins to develop a grudging respect for Megu’s courage and determination. On several occasions, she temporarily sets aside her hostility to join forces with Megu against common enemies, such as the demonic witch-queen Saturn and her henchman Chou-san. While true friendship never develops between them, Non’s attitude softens slightly, showing that she is capable of admiration and cooperation.

Non’s role in the story is that of a foil to Megu, representing the opposite approach to the trials of becoming queen. Where Megu learns empathy and human connection, Non remains aloof and superior. This contrast is highlighted in the final selection for the crown: both candidates fail the test because Megu has become too emotionally attached to humans, while Non has refused to understand them at all. As a result, the queen sends them both back to Earth for further training. In that climactic confrontation, Non physically tries to prevent Megu from returning to the human world, leading to a raw, magic-less brawl between the two rivals.

In terms of abilities, Non wields powerful magic that she channels through her fingers, often by forming a V-sign and casting spells such as the incantation “Tekuniku Tekunika Sharanra”. She is also highly skilled in hand-to-hand combat and possesses sharp intellect, making her a dangerous opponent in both magical and mundane confrontations. Her appearance and demeanour have been noted as an early archetype of the “dark magical girl” rival that would become a common trope in later magical girl series.
