Lindo Tachibana is an eighteen-year-old student at Shikou Academy and a central figure in the conflict surrounding the Forbidden Grimoire. He was raised as the older brother of Ritsuka Tachibana, but it is later revealed they are actually cousins; his mother, Marta Tachibana, was a human, and his father, Lord Nesta, is a vampire, making Lindo a dhampir. Early in his life, his grandfather, a researcher of the occult, was cursed by vampires and devils, and on his deathbed he tasked Lindo with protecting the Tachibana family. To fulfill that duty, Lindo traveled to England to train as an exorcist, and he returns to Japan just as Ritsuka’s mother Maria is kidnapped and the search for the grimoire intensifies. He enrolls at Shikou Academy to keep watch over Ritsuka, often acting as a barrier between her and the devil student council members. Lindo is tall and fair-skinned with short, messy red hair and turquoise eyes. When his vampire side surfaces, his eyes glow red, a lock of hair extends, and he grows fangs and claws. He is stoic, independent, and highly protective of those he loves, especially Ritsuka, and he becomes furious and jealous whenever any devil attempts to harm or manipulate her. He is also smart, resourceful, and determined, and he shows a caring, domestic side through his love of cooking and cleaning. His dual identity as both exorcist and vampire places him in a unique position: he has been trained in exorcism techniques and holy weaponry, yet he also possesses vampire strength and defensive abilities. Throughout the story, his primary motivation is to keep Ritsuka safe, even at the cost of his own life. As the narrative progresses, he reveals the truth of their blood relation and confesses his romantic feelings for her. In the film Dance with Devils: Fortuna, Lindo continues to struggle with his origins and his love for Ritsuka, ultimately choosing a path that supports her regardless of the outcome. Key relationships include his adoptive mother Maria, his rivalrous interactions with the devil student council president Rem Kaginuki, and his deep bond with Ritsuka, which drives much of his personal development as he reconciles his exorcist duties with his vampire heritage.
