Description
Bianca Carlyle is a seasoned mobile suit pilot who appears in the Universal Century timeline as a member of the Earth Federation Forces. Her background is that of a veteran who fought through the final stages of the One Year War, having participated in major battles such as Loum and A Baoa Qu. Notably, she piloted the fragile RB-79 Ball in combat during Operation Cembalo and later flew a RGM-79 GM at the battle of A Baoa Qu, where she achieved her eighth kill by destroying a mobile armor. The personal cost of the war is significant for her, as she lost her boyfriend during the conflict. She wears tattoos on her body that commemorate the various units she served with during these campaigns. By the events of U.C. 0080, she is assigned to the Earth Federation ship Spartan.

In terms of personality, Bianca is characterized by her leadership qualities and her ability to bond with her comrades, with one fellow soldier describing her as a natural leader. She possesses a strong sense of camaraderie and is known for being able to get along well with others. Bianca has a deep appreciation for jazz music, a passion she shares with the protagonist Io Fleming, and she enjoys playing the keyboard, even carrying a foldable piano with her in her mobile suit. Her demeanor can be both professional and spirited; for instance, during the Spartan's descent to Earth, she recklessly unbuckles herself from her seat just to get a better view of the planet. She is also shown to be a source of emotional support, demonstrating a calm and caring side when helping her fellow soldiers deal with stress.

Bianca's primary motivation is tied to her sense of duty and her loyalty to her allies. She is a dedicated soldier who carries out her missions effectively, but her actions are also driven by a desire to support and protect those she fights alongside. Her role in the story of Bandit Flower is that of a key supporting character and an ace pilot. She is part of the Spartan's crew and becomes a close comrade to Io Fleming, often piloting her RX-77AQ Guncannon Aqua in support of his Atlas Gundam during the operations on Earth. Her role evolves from a fellow pilot to a crucial partner, even taking control of the Atlas Gundam herself when Io is incapacitated by grief. Later, she is entrusted with the vital task of transporting nuclear missiles during a critical operation, fully aware of the high personal risk involved.

Her most significant relationship is with Io Fleming. The two share a bond that is built on their mutual love of jazz music, often playing sessions together. While they can find each other annoying at times, they consistently support each other in battle. Their relationship deepens beyond friendship, as Bianca shows clear affection for Io, comforting him when he is confined to the brig and even kissing him on the lips to calm his nerves before a major assault. She also shares a professional and amiable relationship with the Spartan's crew, including the mechanic Cornelius Kaka, and she works effectively with the Gundam Head Team.

Throughout the story, Bianca undergoes significant development from a skilled but unnamed veteran into a decisive and crucial member of the Spartan's inner circle. She proves her ability to take charge in dire situations, as seen when she pilots the Atlas Gundam to ensure its escape from a collapsing base. Her development also involves a great deal of personal sacrifice; in a later conflict, she is captured by enemy forces and is forced to use a suicide grenade to escape, an act that costs her left arm. She later receives a prosthetic replacement from Anaheim Electronics. After the South Seas Conflict, though she and Io Fleming remain on good terms, she decides to part ways with him. Her journey as a soldier continues as she later joins the Titans and becomes a commander of the Dioskuroi fleet.

As a pilot, Bianca has several notable abilities. She is a highly capable and experienced combat veteran with an impressive kill count. She has demonstrated exceptional skill in close-quarters combat, using a Beam Saber to destroy a Bigro mobile armor at point-blank range. After being assigned the Guncannon Aqua, she shows remarkable proficiency in aquatic combat, taking on and holding her own against the larger and more powerful MSM-03 Gogg. Her resourcefulness and quick thinking are among her greatest assets, allowing her to escape from seemingly inescapable situations, such as detaching her mobile suit's backpack to break free from an enemy's grasp.
