Description
The character known as God or Kami in Love Tyrant is the current deity of the celestial realm and the father of the half-angel, half-devil protagonist Guri. Despite his lofty title and position, his appearance and behavior stand in stark contrast to what one might expect from a divine being, often coming across as an inept and somewhat unreliable father.
His personality is defined by a profound love for his daughter, which often manifests as sheer indulgence. He tends to use his divine status to act freely on his personal whims, a habit that frequently draws others into his affairs and has led to him being largely avoided by other angels in the celestial realm. This isolated existence seems to be a consequence of his unconventional and unpredictable actions.
Nonetheless, beneath his flawed exterior lies a genuine sense of responsibility as a parent. This is most clearly seen in his relationship with the human boy Seiji Aino. Recognizing Seiji as someone who truly understands and accepts Guri for who she is, God demonstrates his respect for the young man. In a humble gesture that shows his trust and approval, he bows his head to Seiji, effectively entrusting his daughter to him.
Regarding his role in the story, he is established as the ruling god living in a traditional Japanese-style room known as the God Room. From this private space, he can observe events in the human world using a small television, which allows him to keep an eye on his daughter's chaotic adventures. While his direct interventions in the plot are limited, his existence is foundational to Guri's identity as the next in line to become a god.
Information about a significant character arc or a wide array of supernatural powers is limited. His most notable ability appears to be the inherent authority and status of his divine office, as well as the ability to grant divine protection. It is through his bloodline that Guri is bestowed with the immortality that allows her to survive the reckless use of her own Kiss Note. His physical description includes being male with brown hair that reaches his shoulders, visible elf-like ears, and a height of 175 centimeters.
