TV-Series
Description
Masayoshi Sawatari is the head of the Little Wing children’s home, a former priest who now oversees the orphanage where the three main girls, Jun Goto, Sora Kaneshiro, and Nozomi Momijidani, live. He is a dependable and openhearted man, known among the children for his relaxed and straightforward nature. His easygoing yet generous demeanor makes the orphanage feel like a true home, and the kids affectionately call him Master. Sawatari retains a strong passion for rock music from his younger days, a love he passed on to the three girls, which ultimately led them to form their band. He also enjoys fishing and often competes with Sakura Toriumi, another orphan from Little Wing, over who catches the most.
In the story, Sawatari initially asks the protagonist Kyo Nukui to dissuade the girls from pursuing a public concert, out of concern for their well-being and the orphanage’s stability. However, he gradually comes to support their musical activities, allowing them to use the orphanage’s chapel as a venue and offering the use of his vintage instrument collection. His role is that of a caring guardian who provides a stable, encouraging environment while respecting the girls’ independence and dreams. Sawatari does not undergo major personal change over the series, but his quiet guidance and trust in the children help them grow as musicians and as individuals. His notable trait is his ability to balance warmth with practical authority, and his extensive collection of classic guitars and other instruments becomes an important resource for the band’s performances.
