Description
Peso, also referred to as Little Peso, is the prince of Akindo, a planet described as the best in the universe at earning money. He comes from a family line known for its excellent financial sense, but he initially shows no interest in that heritage. On his home planet he lives an idle life absorbed in smartphone games, spending heavily on microtransactions. His father, the king of Akindo, eventually loses patience and orders Peso and his underlings to leave the planet and gather all the money in the universe. From that point, Peso travels from world to world, meets a wide range of aliens, and takes part in business battles with them.
A defining trait of Peso is his unusual way of speaking: he says only the merchant greeting "Maido," yet other characters, including aliens who are not from Akindo, understand him without any difficulty. This speech trait reflects his identity as a being raised in a culture of commerce. In personality, he begins as a lazy and somewhat spoiled prince who prefers playing games to taking responsibility, but the journey forces him to rely on the sharp instincts that run in his family.
