Description
Materia White is one of the Materia Sisters, a pair of identical Frame Arms Girls who share the same base model and are distinguished only by their color schemes. Materia White, known in Japanese as Shiro, is the white-clad counterpart to Materia Black. The sisters are introduced as a single unit and function as a duo throughout their appearances.
In terms of background, Materia White and her sister are Frame Arms Girls created by Factory Advance, designed as a basic base-body model with no integrated weapons or armor. Their simple construction makes them lightweight and highly flexible, and they intentionally forgo wearing armor in battle, relying instead on their natural agility and physical strength. This choice reflects their shared personality traits: they are oddly affectionate toward each other and take pleasure in causing mischief or tormenting others. During combat, they work in perfect sync, often overwhelming opponents through coordinated attacks and relentless pressure.
Their primary motivation is to engage in the Sessions Battles that Frame Arms Girls are programmed to conduct. They arrive at Gennai Ao’s apartment with the aim of challenging Gourai and Stylet. In their first encounter, they prove formidable even without any armor, nearly defeating the other girls until Ao provides Gourai with a specialized weapon. After their defeat, the sisters decide to stay with Ao, integrating into the growing group of Frame Arms Girls living in her home.
Key relationships center on Materia Black, with whom Materia White shares an exceptionally close bond. They are rarely seen apart and communicate seamlessly, often acting as a single entity. With Gourai, Stylet, and Baselard, the sisters initially serve as rivals but gradually become comrades. Their dynamic with Stylet is particularly strained, as Stylet is frustrated by their antics and the additional chaos they bring.
Development occurs as the sisters transition from antagonists to reliable allies. While they retain their mischievous tendencies, they begin to participate in everyday activities with the others and show a degree of loyalty to Ao and her mission. Their notable ability is their raw combat prowess without equipment, including exceptional speed and reflexive teamwork. They possess the same 3mm connection points as other Frame Arms Girls, allowing customization with external parts if desired, though they rarely choose to equip any. Their physical flexibility and articulation, modeled after the base-body design, grant them a wide range of motion in battle. Materia White’s role in the story is that of a trickster who later becomes a dependable, if still gleefully troublesome, member of the group.
