Description
Jun Furuya is a male middle school student who serves as the class representative for class 2-1 and is a dedicated member of the broadcast club, eventually becoming its president. He lives with his mother, Reiko Furuya, and his younger sister, Hotaru Furuya, who is extremely possessive of him and initially distrustful of any girl who tries to get close to her brother.

In terms of personality, Jun is characterized as a serious, responsible, and reliable individual who takes his duties as class representative and broadcast club president very seriously. He is fundamentally shy and introverted, which often conflicts with his sense of responsibility, especially when it comes to expressing his personal feelings. He becomes easily embarrassed, particularly when teased by his girlfriend, Yuki Minagawa, and it took him several months to work up the courage to reply to her initial confession of love.

Despite his reserved nature, Jun harbors a deep and pure love for Yuki Minagawa. His primary motivation throughout the story is navigating the complexities of his relationship with Yuki, learning to balance his innate shyness with his desire to be a good partner. He is motivated by a strong sense of care for her, as shown when he takes it upon himself to look after her after she is injured.

In the story's narrative, Jun's role is almost entirely centered on his romantic relationship with Yuki. Their dynamic is a key focus, with Jun often being the straight man to Yuki's more teasing and playful personality. He struggles to articulate his feelings, leading to internal monologues that reveal his earnest and naive love, while Yuki is sometimes oblivious to the depth of his feelings or uses her teasing as a way to interact with him. His relationship with Yuki is the primary vehicle for his character development, as he gradually learns to become more brave and open.

One of Jun's most notable relationships is with his younger sister, Hotaru. She has a significant brother complex and goes so far as to impersonate him via text message in an attempt to drive Yuki away, believing no girl is worthy of her brother. This conflict showcases the external pressures on his romantic life and his patience in dealing with his family. Another key relationship is, of course, with Yuki Minagawa. Their relationship begins with a confession and progresses through a series of milestones. Despite his shyness, Jun proves himself capable of great bravery in the context of their dating life, most notably by taking the initiative to share their first kiss. This moment, which occurs during Christmas, is a significant turning point, allowing him to see Yuki's vulnerable and flustered side, which she usually hides behind her teasing.

Jun's character development is marked by his transition from a reserved, duty-bound boy to one who can embrace emotional vulnerability. While initially holding back his emotions, his relationship with Yuki teaches him that love and responsibility are not mutually exclusive, and that expressing his feelings is a strength. This growth is evident in how he becomes more proactive and brave in the relationship, evolving from a boy who took months to reply to a confession to one who initiates their first kiss. A notable ability, given his personality, is his capacity to overcome his embarrassment in decisive moments, stepping up as a confident and loving boyfriend when it truly matters.
