TV-Series
Description
Gengorō Makabe is a senior member of the immortal organization UQ Holder, where he holds the designation of Number 6. He is a young man with black spiky hair who typically wears glasses along with a formal vest and black tie, often carrying a katana. His demeanor is consistently professional and stoic, almost always maintaining a poker face regardless of the situation.

His origins are unusual, even by the standards of immortals. Gengorō originally came from a parallel version of Earth where magic does not exist, living an ordinary life with his mother and younger sister. His life changed forever when he died after being struck by a truck, an event that transported him to the magical world where UQ Holder operates. Upon arriving in this new world, he was granted unique magical abilities that function like elements from a video game.

The core of Gengorō's immortality is a Life Stock System. He has the ability to stockpile extra lives, and a new life is added to his stock every time he performs a good deed. The maximum number of lives he can store is 65,535. When his body is killed, a clone of himself appears elsewhere to take its place, effectively resurrecting him as long as lives remain in his stock. After revival, he is completely invincible to all harm for a period of three seconds. He can also release multiple stocked lives simultaneously to create an army of clones. Gengorō's immortality is classified as Class D, as it has a finite limit that must be recharged through continued good deeds. In a crisis during the series, he uses a magical barrier during his invincibility window to stop a nuclear bomb, sacrificing all his remaining lives in the process but ultimately surviving because saving thousands of people was itself recognized as a good deed that granted him one final life.

Beyond his immortality, Gengorō possesses a Vision Filter that allows him to see the world through a digital heads-up display, complete with scanning和分析 capabilities that let him identify a person's identity and powers as if viewing a status screen in a role-playing game. He also wields immense physical strength, easily able to lift another character even when that character's sword weighs 20,000 times its own weight, and he is a highly skilled swordsman.

Within the organization, Gengorō is a reliable and dependable figure who appears to have taken on the responsibility of managing UQ Holder after the disappearance of its leader, Jinbei Shishido. He holds a deep, one-sided respect for Jinbei, whom he considers his master despite Jinbei rejecting this student-teacher relationship and claiming that Gengorō's skills are already too great for him to learn anything new. Their bond is further highlighted by a timeline note that after being defeated by Jinbei, the two exchanged a vow of brotherhood. Throughout the story, Gengorō acts as a pragmatic and often cynical foil to the more idealistic protagonist. He tends to view situations through a cold, utilitarian lens, once opposing a plan to save civilians from a terrorist attack on the grounds that it was not the organization's responsibility, though he eventually agrees to participate when a personal benefit is pointed out.

Near the conclusion of the final battle, the true nature of Gengorō's power is fully revealed. His immortality functions as interference from his original parallel world, effectively editing his presence in the UQ Holder world. When his powers are neutralized in the final conflict, he is sent back to his original Earth, accidentally pulling two other characters along with him. He is able to return to the UQ Holder world by immediately leaping from a rooftop with them. After the final battle against the primary antagonist, Gengorō plays a vital role in mitigating the catastrophic eruption of the Yellowstone supervolcano approximately a decade later. Following this event, he permanently returns to his original, non-magical Earth.
