Nene Higashiyama is a high school student who appears on the surface to be a typical teenage girl, but she secretly desires to be popular and well-liked by everyone around her. She is proud and somewhat arrogant, determined to achieve her goals no matter what it takes. Beneath this confident exterior, however, Nene is deeply insecure, a fact that manifests in a recurring nightmare in which she is chased by a monster that represents her fears and anxieties. Unable to confront these insecurities in her waking life, she often lashes out at those around her, pushing them away and isolating herself further. Her life changes when she becomes trapped in a dream world called Wonderland, where she must navigate a deadly game in order to escape. Along the way, she encounters Haruto Tsukishiro, a mysterious man who helps her understand the true nature of her fears. In her dream world, Nene is also connected to a story involving a tyrant known as Pol Pot and a loyal tin robot named Yoshitsune, who seeks to help her. Through her experiences, Nene learns to face her inner demons and grows into a stronger, more confident person.
