Description
Mana Midorikawa is a second-year high school student from Hinano City and an only child whose family operates a local shrine. Standing 156 centimeters tall with short green hair and yellow eyes, she is an energetic and resourceful girl with a strong interest in cosplaying from heroine shows. Her motivation is partly practical: she often acts in a mercenary manner, seeking to drive business to her family's shrine in order to increase her allowance, which she uses to fund her cosplay hobbies. She has entertained the idea of using the shrine's temple as a training space for this purpose.
In the story, Mana is among the first recruits to the Action Heroine Project initiated by student council president Misaki Shirogane. She responds to a poster calling for applicants and brings her costume design skills to the group, quickly becoming an essential behind-the-scenes contributor. She creates the costumes for the group's performances, earning her the role of Terra Green, the green-themed member of the local heroine team Hina-Nectar. Her role is primarily that of a creative and logistical supporter, handling the visual side of the shows while also performing on stage alongside the others.
Mana's key relationships are with her fellow Cheer Fruits members, particularly the core group of Ann Akagi, Mikan Kise, and the others who join later such as Genki Aoyama and Yuki Aoyama. She works closely with them to develop the group's identity and improve their performances, and her family's shrine initially serves as their practice and performance venue until complications arise that force the group to relocate to an abandoned train station. Her relationship with Genki involves technical and creative collaboration, as Genki handles sound and technology while Mana handles costumes.
Over the course of the series, Mana develops from someone primarily concerned with personal gain and her own cosplay interests into a more invested and cooperative member of the team. She commits herself to the success of the Action Heroine Project and the revitalization of Hinano City, putting her skills to use for the collective good. Her notable abilities include costume design and construction, a talent for cosplay that directly supports the group's visual presentation, and her willingness to perform on stage as one of the heroines, contributing to the choreography and energy of the live shows.
