TV-Series
Description
Manet is a vampire of the Crimson Moon faction, serving as personal security for Count Parks Orlok. The Count governs vampire affairs within human Paris under the Vampire Queen's mandate. Residing in the human world instead of Altus, Manet operates as part of Paris's primary vampiric authority alongside his sister Nox and their master. This group monitors all vampire and human activities, including the efforts of Noé Archiviste and Vanitas to cure curse-bearers.

Tall and broad-shouldered, Manet has blonde hair, red eyes, and the characteristic pointy ears of his kind. He typically wears a black buttoned formal coat with a concealed cravat and lighter leggings.

Outwardly calm and calculating, Manet possesses an easily flustered side, particularly concerning romance or intimate subjects. He exhibits curiosity, questioning abilities like those of the Archiviste Clan and closely observing interactions such as Vanitas's. While generally composed, events involving blood-drinking or strong emotional displays visibly unsettle him, sometimes causing intense blushing. Fan interpretations, based on noted body language and reactions, suggest a speculative romantic interest in Noé Archiviste.

In combat, Manet employs the enhanced strength, speed, and endurance common to vampires. His primary weapons are retractable claws, frequently deployed offensively and defensively alongside Nox during security operations.

Key relationships define his role: He shares a close sibling bond with Nox, though she often adopts a more aggressive, protective stance during duties. As Count Orlok's bodyguard, he acts as an extension of his master's surveillance, referring to himself as "Count Orlok's eyes" during field observations. He harbors a distinct dislike for Vanitas, likely stemming from the human's perceived disrespect. After initial wariness, his terms with Noé Archiviste appear neutral or cordial, occasionally involving requests for errands. He also demonstrates significant affection for Murr, Noé's cat, frequently visiting Hôtel Chouchou to observe or interact with the animal, sometimes with Nox.

Manet actively participates in monitoring and enforcing vampire protocols. He and Nox confront Vanitas for trespassing in Orlok's office during the Parisian Excursion Arc. They later covertly witness the curing of curse-bearer Thomas Berneux, pursue him upon his escape, and discover his demise by an unknown perpetrator. Manet is present during discussions concerning Amelia Ruth's fate post-curing and observes Noé utilizing his blood-drinking memory abilities. His reactions in these scenes shift between professional vigilance and visible discomfort during emotionally intense moments.

His name originates from the Latin phrase "omnes una manet nox" in Horace's *Odes*, translating to "the same night awaits us all," an etymology shared with his sister Nox.
