Description
Strength is a Hemiteos Unit, Type 02, originating as an orphan from Lighthouse No. 8 in Bogotá, Colombia, during the early 2030s. Her life before the orphanage remains undocumented, though she arrived there already missing both biological arms, having received prosthetic replacements prior to her transformation into a Hemiteos Unit. This transformation granted her the signature Gigantic Arms, leading her to adopt the name "Strength" based on the tarot card symbolizing absolute power.
Her appearance features tan skin, short white hair with asymmetrical bangs covering her right eye, and orange eyes. She wears a tattered black and gray hooded jacket with orange accents, a collar with a sharp teeth pattern covering her mouth, a frayed bodysuit, and combat shoes. Olive green satchels are holstered to her waist and shoulders. Her prosthetic hands are thin and claw-like with orange fingers.
Strength exhibits a dual personality directly tied to her Gigantic Arms. When equipped, her dominant personality becomes aggressive, profane, and confrontational, frequently issuing violent threats towards allies like Lunatic. Without the arms, she shifts to a fearful, non-confrontational state, explicitly disapproving of violence. These conflicting personas manifest internally as distinct entities, causing significant psychological strain. She experiences memory gaps and chronic headaches, initially attributed to Empress but later identified as resulting from torture and brainwashing inflicted by Lunatic during captivity.
In combat, she pilots a Black Trike motorcycle and wields the Gigantic Arms as heavy weaponry and shields. She engages Titans independently, though occasional overpowering results in temporary disarmament. Despite hostility toward Empress—fueled by fragmented memories of abuse—she intervenes to protect her from swarm-type Titans during a critical battle. During this encounter, she challenges Empress's motivations for defending humanity, specifically criticizing her concern for the child Norito. Empress's rebuttal triggers Strength's recollections of their shared past at Lighthouse No. 8.
Her development includes reconciling with Empress after recovering suppressed memories of Lunatic's manipulation. This transition moves her from an adversary to a reluctant ally, though her core personality traits persist. Alcohol initially served as a coping mechanism for her headaches, a habit abandoned after memory restoration. Her engineering expertise enables her to assist in summoning Empress's Coilgun during pivotal confrontations, demonstrating strategic utility beyond direct combat.
