Nishiki is a member of the Fuma ninja clan, though she is considered a half-baked member because she never completed her coming-of-age training. This incomplete training is reflected in her appearance: she has only half of the clan’s characteristic white hair and only one purple eye. She initially infiltrates the Gokumonjo prison disguised as a guard with the intention of avenging her fallen clan. However, after encountering Soramaru Kumo, she is convinced to abandon her vendetta and eventually becomes part of the Kumo household. Nishiki develops strong romantic feelings for Soramaru, and her loyalty to him and his family drives her to betray her own clan, ultimately aiding in the defeat of the Orochi. She is a capable and determined fighter, gentle in demeanor but ruthless when protecting those she cares about. Nishiki is also known to be a terrible cook, a trait she shares with Shirasu.
