Description
Corby is a young man who begins his journey as a timid and unwilling servant to the pirate captain Alvida. Having accidentally boarded her ship years before, he was forced to work as a cabin boy, living in constant fear of her brutality and his own helplessness. His physical appearance is that of a slight, unassuming individual, often marked by an expression of anxiety that reflects his internal state.
His personality is initially defined by deep-seated cowardice and a lack of self-confidence. He is easily frightened and prone to tears, believing himself incapable of changing his fate. However, beneath this fearful exterior lies a strong moral compass and a genuine desire for justice. His defining personal motivation is his secret dream to join the Marines, an organization he idealizes as the force for good in the world, in direct opposition to the pirates he serves.
Corby's role in the story begins when he encounters Monkey D. Luffy, who is hiding in a barrel on Alvida's ship. Luffy's unwavering determination and fearless attitude act as a catalyst for Corby.
