Description
Hokuto Ijūin is a former pianist and model who becomes an idol, known for his charming, confident, and elegant demeanor that carries the image of a flirtatious prince. He comes from a musically gifted family, with a violinist father, a mother who teaches piano, and a sister learning the flute. During childhood, he demonstrated strong talent on the piano, but an injury to a tendon in high school prevented him from pursuing professional performance, although he still retains some ability, such as playing Der Flohwalzer at a high tempo. During his college years, he joined the tennis club, partly attracted by the girls' uniforms, and later worked as a model before being scouted as an idol. Reports indicate he did not particularly enjoy modeling, though the reasons are not clearly specified.

Initially, Hokuto was part of the agency 961 Production as a member of the idol unit Jupiter alongside Shouta Mitarai and Touma Amagase. In this early phase, his performance emphasized visual appeal, and he was considered the weakest dancer of his group. His persona was characterized by overt flirtation directed exclusively at female fans; he used Ciao☆ as a signature greeting and referred to his supporters as Angel-chans. He made unsuccessful romantic advances toward fellow idols Makoto Kikuchi and Azusa Miura. Despite his seemingly aloof and flirtatious exterior, he displays genuine maturity and intelligence, having even won a magazine poll where readers chose him as the celebrity they would most like as an older brother. He also maintains a respectful attitude toward women, demonstrated by a instance where he lost a fighting game against Shouta because Shouta was using a female character.

Growing disillusioned with what he perceived as the unethical methods of 961 Production, Hokuto, along with the rest of Jupiter, chose to leave the agency. The unit operated independently before eventually joining 315 Production. As the oldest and most experienced member of the group, Hokuto took on greater responsibility during this transition. He initiated conversations with 315 Pro president Takashi Saitou and was a driving force behind the group's collective decision to join the agency. Following the move to 315 Production, his personality and approach evolved significantly. He reduced his overt flirtatiousness, began addressing his male fans as Angel-kuns, and expressed an appreciation for beauty regardless of gender. His leadership role within the Jupiter unit solidified, as he worked to balance group dynamics and support his fellow members. His ongoing development also includes maintaining a connection to his musical roots; his background as a pianist occasionally resurfaces, reflecting a journey from a narrowly focused idol image to a more versatile and grounded performer who prioritizes fan connections and artistic integrity. A brief connection from his past is also touched upon when he attends the debut performance of the unit S.E.M, acknowledging an earlier relationship with its member, Rui Maita.
