OVA
Description
Junichi Hashiba is the teenage protagonist of his story, a second-year high school student who begins the narrative with no romantic or sexual experience. Standing at 170 centimeters tall and weighing 62 kilograms, he has a common and unremarkable physical appearance, characterized by brown eyes, brown hair, and a distinct stray lock of hair that sticks up from the top of his head. Born on August 31, he is a Virgo.

At the outset, Junichi has a very low opinion of himself, viewing his life as a loser who has failed to achieve the typical experiences of youth, particularly losing his virginity. He is emotionally weak, lacks self-respect, and constantly sees himself in a negative light. His personality is defined by extreme timidity and a highly active, often perverted imagination that leads him to constantly daydream about lewd situations and sexual fantasies. He is also notably gullible, easily believing strange information about gyaru girls that his friends plant in his head.

His primary motivation, driven by his insecurities and the peer pressure from his friends, is initially to lose his virginity. This leads him to make a confession to Yukana Yame, a popular and fashionable gal in his class, as part of a scheme devised by his friend group. When Yukana surprisingly accepts, Junichi is suspicious of her true intentions, doubting that she could sincerely like someone like him and often wondering if she is simply playing with him. However, as the story progresses, his motivations shift from pure physical desire to a genuine affection for Yukana. He begins to value their relationship, becomes willing to put in the effort to understand her, and develops a desire to protect and care for her.

Junichi serves as the central character through which the story unfolds. His decision to confess to Yukana is the inciting incident that drives the entire plot. His role is that of an everyman protagonist who navigates the chaotic and often embarrassing situations that arise from dating a gal, dealing with the interference of other girls and the pressure from his perverted friends. His internal debates and sexual fantasies are a recurring narrative device that provides insight into his immature yet evolving mindset.

His most significant relationship is with Yukana Yame, his girlfriend. While Yukana is genuinely in love with him and becomes very jealous and possessive, Junichi initially dated her only to lose his virginity. Over time, he develops strong feelings for her, remaining loyal and rejecting advances from other girls. Junichi is also part of a close-knit group of three perverted friends: Keigo Ishida, Minoru Kobyakawa, and Shinpei Sakamoto. Sakamoto is often the instigator who proposed the plan to get Junichi a girlfriend, and the group collectively pressures him while also supporting his relationship. Another key figure is Ranko Honjō, a mutual friend of Yukana's who is actually in love with her. Ranko is openly hostile to Junichi, derisively calling him Dōtei-kun, meaning "virgin-boy," and even threatening to harm him if he takes Yukana's virginity before she can. He also attracts the affections of other girls, including his childhood friend Shizune Fujinoki, who sees him as more than a sibling, and Yui Kashī, a middle school friend with an obsessive crush on him.

Throughout the series, Junichi undergoes notable character development. He begins as a pathetic and spineless individual who is easily swayed by his friends and lacks confidence. He frequently makes self-blaming remarks, believing that someone like his girlfriend would be better suited for another man. However, as he faces challenges, including a physical confrontation with an antagonist who insults Yukana, he learns to stand up for himself and defend the people he cares about. He transitions from a passive character who is a slave to his base desires to a more assertive male lead who draws clear boundaries with other girls and demonstrates perseverance in his relationship. He learns to look past outward appearances to see the heart of a person. While his gullibility and active imagination remain part of his character, he grows in integrity and becomes someone who can be relied upon in crucial situations.

Aside from his vivid imagination and growing emotional resilience, Junichi does not possess any notable physical or supernatural abilities. His internal struggles and personal growth are the primary focus of his character arc.
