Orobas Coco is a demon student in Class A at Babyls Demon School, perpetually ranked second in academic and practical exams. This consistency earned him the nickname "Second Place Believer" among peers, stemming from being outperformed by Alice Asmodeus and Schneider Allocer. This led to a misconception that he intentionally avoids first place, fostering social isolation. His family also faces unwarranted association with the "Numeral 2" cult, fueling his drive to overcome this stigma through genuine achievement. Standing 186 cm tall with an athletic build, he possesses tanned skin, long brown hair tied in a waist-length ponytail, bushy eyebrows, and distinctive finger markings unique to his family. His most notable features are a centaur-like lower body with horse legs and white hooves, pointed ears, and a tail.
Initially serious, distant, and solitary, Coco harbors a strong aversion to his family's "Trauma" or "Trauma Lantern" bloodline magic, which conjures illusions of a target's deepest fears or traumatic memories. He deems this ability dishonorable, preferring to compete using physical strength, survival skills, and mountain-climbing expertise. Resentment toward the popular Abnormal Class stems from envy of their accomplishments, though he maintains an underlying sense of fairness and integrity.
During the Harvest Festival, the traitorous demon Ocho manipulated Coco, forcing him to use his bloodline magic against his principles. He targeted Abnormal Class members, causing Jazz's disqualification by exploiting his trauma and later assaulting Iruma Suzuki, Clara Valac, and Lied Shax with fear-based illusions. Alice Asmodeus intervened to stop him. Under Ocho's influence, Coco briefly won the festival with 58,000 points, but corrections to Iruma and Lied's scores relegated him to third place. Despite this, he achieved a personal rank of Gimel (3), shedding the "Number 2" label and gaining popularity. The experience left him feeling empty and remorseful upon realizing the extent of his manipulated actions.
Following the Harvest Festival, Coco reconciled with the Abnormal Class, apologizing and earning their forgiveness. This marked significant growth: he became more approachable, participated in school activities like the Music Festival as Class A's star actor, and formed friendships, notably with classmate Eiko. He also saved Eiko during a mountain-climbing excursion, demonstrating his protective nature. While memories of Ocho's manipulation faded, the experience cemented his respect for Iruma and his peers, resolving his earlier jealousy.
His hobbies include mountain climbing. His family's lore in demonology associates them with the demon Orobas, known for truth-telling and loyalty.
