ONA
Description
Moyuru Kōda is a supporting character from the anime DEVILMAN crybaby. He is a track-and-field athlete from Kawa High School, known nationwide as the Super Highschooler and considered one of Japan's most promising young runners. In the past, his life was marked by scandal: he faced accusations of illegal doping, and a teammate died under circumstances that caused him to withdraw from others. He kept largely to himself following these events.

During the Black Sabbath party, a demonic gathering, Moyuru was possessed by a demon and merged with it, becoming a Devilman—a being that retains a human heart while wielding demonic powers. His boyfriend, Junichi, died at the same party. Following the merge, both Moyuru's appearance and personality changed. His athletic performance improved dramatically, allowing him to set five youth records. However, he became more withdrawn and troubled by his new condition.

Moyuru's existence as a Devilman was exposed by Ryo Asuka during a televised track event, where Ryo used a drug to force him to transform. In his Devilman form, Moyuru takes on a bull-like appearance, with sharp teeth, horns, and a large mouth. This form is uncontrollable and driven by raw instinct. After the exposure, Akira Fudo, the protagonist, intervened to protect Moyuru, recognizing that he was not a mindless demon but a fellow Devilman. Moyuru then joined Akira's group of Devilmen, fighting alongside other transformed humans to defend humanity from demons and from the paranoid violence of society.

Moyuru's key relationships include Akira, who becomes a leader and protector for him, and Miki Kuroda, another track athlete who also becomes a Devilman and fights by his side. His development traces an arc from a reclusive, scandal-ridden athlete to a loyal member of a team, learning to control his powers and accept his dual nature. In combat, he relies on superhuman speed and strength in human form, and in his demonic form he possesses enhanced physical capabilities but struggles with loss of control.
