Description
Kiyoi Mizushima is a central figure in the WIXOSS narrative, whose unique history as both a Selector and an LRIG places her at the heart of the conflicts in Lostorage conflated WIXOSS. Her journey begins as a withdrawn and distrustful middle school student. As a child, she endured severe bullying, which bred a deep-seated suspicion of others and left her as a loner. This changed when a persistent and cheerful classmate named Ayumi Sakaguchi repeatedly tried to befriend her, eventually convincing a reluctant Kiyoi to try the WIXOSS card game. Before they could properly begin, Kiyoi ran into traffic, and Ayumi pushed her to safety, only to be hit by a truck and fall into a coma.

Overwhelmed with guilt, Kiyoi became a Selector when the LRIG named Remember appeared from a deck Ayumi had intended to give her. She wished for Ayumi to be saved. Trusting Remember as a friend, Kiyoi fought and won several battles, but this trust was shattered when she achieved the status of Eternal Girl. Instead of having her wish granted, Kiyoi’s consciousness was swapped into a LRIG card, becoming the emotionless being known as Piruluk. She was forced to watch as Remember, now inhabiting her human body, disconnected Ayumi from life support, effectively fulfilling Kiyoi’s original wish in a cruel and twisted way. This betrayal became the core of her being, igniting a relentless desire for revenge against Remember and a desperate wish to regain a human body.

Kiyoi's personality was profoundly shaped by this trauma. As the LRIG Piruluk, she became cold, apathetic, and seemingly devoid of emotion, hardened by years of using her ability, Peeping Analyze, to witness the darkest wishes and despair of countless other Selectors. During this time, she was partnered with the volatile Selector Akira Aoi, a relationship defined by shared cruelty, as Akira would torment opponents by exposing the very wishes Kiyoi had seen. Her time as a LRIG left her burdened with guilt for the suffering she had caused. By the events of Lostorage conflated WIXOSS, Kiyoi has finally regained her human body, but she is not the same girl she once was. Now a high school student, she is driven, serious, and pragmatic, but also haunted by her past. Her primary motivation is no longer personal revenge but a sense of atonement and responsibility. She seeks to permanently dismantle the twisted Selector system she once was a part of, driven by a need to recover the precious memories of Ayumi Sakaguchi that she lost as a price for surviving the second round of battles and to stop the cycle of despair from claiming more victims.

In the narrative of Lostorage conflated WIXOSS, Kiyoi acts as a proactive instigator. Sensing the ominous return of the Selector battles, she begins investigating, believing the LRIGs are still plotting. She approaches Suzuko Homura, the previous winner of the battles, to gauge her power and recruit her as an ally. Her role is that of a connector, bridging the cast of the original Selector series with the newer Lostorage characters. She brings together Suzuko and Hanna Mikage, despite initial friction, to form a group dedicated to stopping the new conflict orchestrated by the entity Carnival. Her deep knowledge of the system, stemming from her time in the white room with the girl Mayu, makes her a crucial strategist. She is often met with hostility from those she wronged as Piruluk, most notably Akira Aoi, who seeks revenge, forcing Kiyoi to confront the consequences of her past actions directly.

Her key relationships define her arc. The most significant is with Ayumi Sakaguchi, the friend whose fate she carries as a permanent burden. Her relationship with her LRIG in this new conflict, Allos Piruluk, is also notable. This LRIG is not a separate entity but a being created from Kiyoi’s own memories of Ayumi, Amika Hashimoto (a girl who resembled Ayumi and was her last Selector), and her time as a LRIG. Unlike her previous, manipulative LRIG Remember, Allos Piruluk is a strong-willed and reliable partner who cares for Kiyoi, though she refuses to go along with suicidal plans. Kiyoi’s development culminates in her stepping fully into the role of a protagonist. She moves from a victim of the system, to a perpetrator within it, and finally to someone who actively works to end it. She leverages her dual experience as both Selector and LRIG to confront the orchestrators of the battles, ultimately seeking to break the cycle permanently to achieve closure for herself and save others from her own tragic fate.

As a combatant, Kiyoi is a formidable WIXOSS player, often described as very strong. Her notable ability, a remnant of her time as Piruluk, is known as Peeping Analyze. This power allows her to see into the hearts and desires of her opponents, giving her a significant strategic advantage by predicting their actions and exploiting their weaknesses. She also retained a skill for fortune-telling, which she used with high accuracy. Her deck and strategies reflect her calculating and experienced nature, making her one of the most capable Selectors in the series.
