Description
Hector Doyle is a prominent antagonist introduced during the Most Evil Death Row Convicts saga. Hailing from the United Kingdom, Doyle is a muscular man of about 25 years old, standing 185 centimeters tall and weighing 85 kilograms, with distinctive red hair and eyes. His background is largely shrouded in mystery, but it is known that he worked as an assassin. His first appearance in the narrative is dramatic and indicative of his nature: he is seen sitting in an electric chair, moments from execution. His final words before the switch is thrown are I want to know defeat, after which he survives the immense voltage, breaks free, and incapacitates the prison guards.

Doyle's personality is marked by a unique duality that sets him apart from his fellow death row convicts. While he is a cold-blooded and relentless assassin who uses any means necessary to achieve victory, he also exhibits a surprisingly decent and humane side. He demonstrates a level of common sense and restraint uncommon among the other convicts; for instance, he pays for items at a convenience store and expresses reluctance to fight in a crowded shopping mall to avoid civilian casualties. After critically wounding the Chinese martial arts master Kaioh Retsu, Doyle spends the entire night protecting the unconscious Retsu from being robbed or harmed by thugs, even as he himself is bleeding heavily from the fight. This act of unexpected honor reveals a complexity beneath his brutal exterior.

Doyle's primary motivation for escaping prison and traveling to Tokyo is the same as the other convicts: a powerful, all-consuming desire to finally understand and experience defeat. As an assassin who has likely always succeeded in his missions, he has grown weary of victory and seeks an opponent who can overcome him, a quest that drives his entire role in the story.

As an antagonist, Doyle engages in a series of brutal, anything-goes fights against the main cast. His major confrontations include a battle with the monstrously strong Biscuit Oliva, a fierce weapon-based fight against Kaioh Retsu that costs him his left eye, and a destructive assault on the Shinshinkai dojo where he uses an explosive mixture of flour and gunpowder. After being subdued by Doppo Orochi, he is left to face an enraged Katsumi Orochi, who repeatedly knocks him unconscious. It is through this relentless beating from Katsumi that Doyle finally comprehends the defeat he sought. In a symbolic act of submission and newfound respect, he takes off his shirt, admits defeat, and even requests to be taught karate by Katsumi, leading to an unlikely friendship between the former assassin and the young martial artist. This marks the beginning of his redemption. Later, after attempting to leave Japan, he is ambushed by fellow convict Ryuko Yanagi, who poisons and permanently blinds his remaining eye.

Doyle's development continues even after his capture. While imprisoned in a facility for the disabled, he undergoes a significant transformation. Having lost both his sight and, deliberately, his hearing, he learns to perceive the world solely through an enhanced sense of touch. He ruptures his own eardrums to sharpen this sense, allowing him to feel the vibrations of his surroundings and "see" through physical contact, adapting to his disabilities and becoming a different kind of fighter.

In terms of combat abilities, Doyle is a formidable and unorthodox fighter whose body has been heavily modified. He surgically implanted metal blades into his joints, which he can extend and retract at will using his nervous system to deliver deep slashing attacks. His body also contains a generator in his heart to boost his strength and a bomb on his chest that detonates upon physical contact. One of his signature techniques involves a switch in his ring finger that releases a spring-loaded, high-speed punch capable of caving in an opponent's face. Beyond his physical modifications, he is resourceful and strategic, often using deception, disguises, and improvised explosives, such as when he destroyed a dojo with a bag of flour and gunpowder while wearing fireproof clothing. Despite his reliance on weapons and tricks, Doyle possesses superhuman durability, having survived electrocution, massive blood loss, and repeated beatings from some of the world's strongest fighters.
