Description
Anvil is a Decepticon-allied Cyclone Mini-Con recognizable by his gargoyle-like appearance. As his name suggests, Anvil is not particularly intelligent, possessing very limited mental faculties. However, this lack of sharpness does not hinder his effectiveness, as his primary function is to serve as a brute-force attacker, pummeling Autobots into submission. In this role, he functions as a physical enforcer, relying on strength and aggression rather than strategy.
Anvil’s personality is simple and instinctual. He exhibits behaviors that are almost animalistic, such as taking playful swipes at dangling wires, and he is easily distracted. His motivations are not complex; he follows the commands of his Decepticon leaders and enjoys the act of combat. His partnership with his fellow Cyclone Mini-Con, Hammer, is particularly notable. When paired together, the two function as effective and relentless attack dogs, complementing each other's aggressive natures.
Within the narrative, Anvil is a member of a Decepticon faction led by Scorponok and Glowstrike. He is often teamed up with the Decepticon Bisk, serving as a subordinate and enforcer on missions. During a mission to steal sound boards from a venue called the Rumbledome, Anvil and Hammer were assigned watch duty. They proved to be incompetent sentries, failing to notice a human intruder and instead bringing the source of a noise—a box of cymbals—to their commander while completely missing the actual culprit. Later, during a confrontation with the Autobot Bumblebee, Anvil and Hammer were deployed as weapons. However, their assault was short-lived, as Bumblebee swiftly grabbed the two Mini-Cons, smashed them together, and threw them into a large speaker stack, which shorted out their systems and knocked them offline. Following this defeat, Anvil was placed into a crate and taken for incarceration.
Anvil undergoes minimal development, remaining a simple and brutish enforcer throughout his appearance. He does, however, form a key relationship with his partner, Hammer, as their effectiveness is consistently tied to working as a pair. In terms of abilities, Anvil possesses the power of transformation, changing from a spiked, spherical alternate mode into his winged, gargoyle-like robot mode. He is also a Cyclone-type Mini-Con, designed to be launched into action from larger Deployer figures. His role in the story concludes when his stasis pod is later taken back to the planet Cybertron by Autobot forces.
