Description
Nightra is a former Autobot cadet who studied at the Kaon Police Academy, where she was a classmate and close friend of Strongarm. In contrast to Strongarm's uptight, serious, and by-the-book nature, Nightra is carefree, constantly joking, and always seems to be up to something she should not be. Her independent streak and carefree attitude repeatedly get her into trouble, and ultimately lead her down a dark path. During their academy days, the two friends were competitive and pushed each other to try harder, but Nightra's behavior eventually caused a permanent rift. After she was caught stealing a keyfile for an exam, she tried to convince Strongarm to take the blame, but Strongarm refused to lie, and Nightra was expelled. Following her expulsion, Nightra turned to a life of crime and became a rogue. She eventually stole a device called the Light Bender and the bounty hunter ID badge from the Autobot bounty hunter Blastwave, then fled to Earth to escape his pursuit. Using the Light Bender to render herself invisible, Nightra infiltrated the Autobot base and revealed herself to Strongarm and her team. She pretended to be a bounty hunter on the run from Blastwave, claiming he was a criminal she had previously captured who had escaped. The Autobots believed her story and offered protection. However, Nightra's true nature came to light when Blastwave captured her and Strongarm followed them onto his ship. Strongarm discovered Nightra trying to jettison the cargo bay with the Autobots inside and realized her deception. Nightra attempted to use the Light Bender's decoy function to trick Strongarm, but Strongarm shot out the bridge lights, nullifying the illusions, and placed stasis cuffs on her, handing her over to Blastwave. Nightra's motivations are selfish and centered on her own survival; she is willing to betray former friends and deceive others to protect herself. Her key ability is the use of the Light Bender, which grants her invisibility and the power to create decoy illusions. She also scanned Strongarm's Earth alt-mode to blend in during her time with the team. Nightra appears as a one-time antagonist in the series, representing a former friend who chose a dishonest path and ultimately faced the consequences of her actions.
