TV-Series
Description
Lucy Maud Montgomery is a former member of the American organization known as the Guild. She first appears during the conflict between the Armed Detective Agency, the Port Mafia, and the Guild, and later becomes a recurring supporting figure. Her ability is called Anne of Abyssal Red, which allows her to create a sealed alternate reality known as Anne's Room. Within this space, a large doll named Anne pursues and captures anyone who plays hide-and-seek or tag, imprisoning them until Lucy releases them. The ability reflects the imagination and isolation themes found in the novel Anne of Green Gables.

Lucy grew up in an orphanage where she was treated as an outcast by other children because of her ability and suffered abuse from adults. This difficult upbringing left her with a deep fear of being alone and a desire for a place where she truly belongs. She joined the Guild under the leadership of Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, believing that the organization would give her the acceptance she lacked. Initially, she appears as an antagonist, capturing Atsushi Nakajima during the Guild's campaign to acquire his ability. However, her encounter with Atsushi becomes a turning point. He shows her kindness and keeps a promise to meet her again, which softens her guarded nature. She eventually betrays the Guild to help him and later develops romantic feelings for him, though she remains tsundere in expressing them.

Her personality is a blend of loneliness, pride, and a longing for connection. She enjoys daydreaming, romantic things, stuffed toys, and chatting with others. She dislikes stingy people, the orphanage she came from, and being by herself. Outwardly, she can be sharp-tongued and defensive, but beneath that is a vulnerable young woman who craves genuine relationships. Her loyalty, once earned, is steadfast. After leaving the Guild, she finds a new sense of purpose and belonging through her bond with Atsushi and later begins working at the Uzumaki café, where she forms friendships with Louisa May Alcott and other members of the Armed Detective Agency's extended circle.

Throughout the series, Lucy undergoes meaningful development. She moves from being a tool of the Guild to an independent individual who chooses her own allegiances. Her role is that of a former enemy turned ally who provides crucial assistance in battles, particularly through the use of her subspace ability for containment and escape. Her key relationships include her complicated admiration for Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald, her deep gratitude toward Louisa May Alcott, who took her in after her failure, and her evolving connection with Atsushi, who becomes both a friend and a romantic interest. Her story is one of overcoming a traumatic past, learning to trust others, and finding a home among people who accept her for who she is.
