TV-Series
Description
Kakeru Shiwasu is the male representative for the month of December and a member of the idol unit Six Gravity under Tsukino Talent Production. He is recognizable by his fair skin, neck-length blond hair, and orange eyes. Notably, he is the shortest member of both Six Gravity and its sibling unit Procellarum, a fact that sometimes causes him discomfort as he worries it makes him appear less dependable or leads others to treat him like a child. His associated theme color is gold.
In personality, Kakeru is known for being a cheerful and hardworking individual. Often referred to as a cheerful part-time job boy, he is lively, rarely gets discouraged, and has a strong dislike for losing. He possesses a notable sense of pride and believes strongly in self-reliance, a trait demonstrated by his choice to work multiple jobs to support himself after moving away from his family. Despite his energetic and positive disposition, Kakeru has a well-documented constitution for bad luck, experiencing frequent unfortunate incidents such as falling objects or pitfalls where he walks. Nevertheless, he typically starts each day in high spirits and is determined to keep moving forward. He also has a great love for food, partly due to his stage of rapid growth and high metabolism, and is known to be a big eater. He is generous with sharing but is also conscientious about his calorie intake.
His background reveals he comes from an affluent family. He chose to leave home after a series of eccentric and extravagant gestures from his father, such as having his apartment remodeled into a castle as a surprise or arriving at his school entrance ceremony via helicopter. While these conflicts with his father are a source of frustration, his mother is described as fun-loving and supportive. Despite his independence, his parents continue to support him financially and are proud of his idol career.
In the story, Kakeru acts as the starter and MC for his unit, Six Gravity, and his entrance is known to kick off many of their events. His key relationships are central to his character. He is closest with fellow member Kisaragi Koi, with whom he shares an instant, close, and energetic friendship. They are frequently paired for work and their contrasting luck—Koi’s good fortune and Kakeru’s bad luck—is said to balance each other out. Together, they adopt a dog named Korokke. He looks up to unit leader Mutsuki Hajime as a king- or father-figure, treating him with respect and seeking his permission for dormitory matters. He also shares a warm, familial bond with his other bandmates, viewing Yayoi Haru as a mother-figure, Uduki Arata as an older brother, and Satsuki Aoi as a reliable older brother and co-worker.
Regarding development, Kakeru’s journey is one of channeling his industrious nature and resilience into his idol career. After being scouted following his departure from home, he moves into the Tsukino dorms with his fellow members and fully commits to his work, stepping away from his previous part-time jobs. As time passes, he continues to grow as both an idol and an individual, though his sensitivity about his short stature remains a recurring point of focus as he matures. For notable abilities, his primary talents lie in his skills as an idol, specifically his ability to host and serve as a reliable MC for his group, a role he fulfills with a sparkly, energetic presence. His practical skills include a strong sense of how to manage money, a skill honed from his days of working multiple jobs to support himself.
