Description
Elvira Friedmann is a supporting character in the anime Izetta: The Last Witch. She is an adult woman with blonde hair that reaches her waist and brown eyes. Her professional background is in journalism, having worked as a reporter for several newspapers and radio stations in the United States of Atlanta.

Elvira is initially introduced as the personal tutor to Princess Ortfiné "Finé" Fredericka von Eylstadt. She is a capable and intelligent individual whose skills are recognized by those in the princess's circle. On the suggestion of Sieghard Müller, a loyal strategist in the Eylstadt military, Elvira is given a new and crucial role within the war effort. The princess hires her to become the public advertiser and promoter of Izetta, the last surviving witch who has allied herself with Eylstadt.

Her primary motivation is to support the duchy's fight against the invading forces of Germania. By shaping Izetta's public image, Elvira aims to create a symbol of hope and strength for the Eylstadt populace, using her journalistic expertise to improve national morale during a desperate conflict. She understands the power of media and propaganda, leveraging her skills to craft the narrative of the legendary White Witch. This role places her in direct service to Princess Finé, and she works alongside the princess's other close aides, such as the bodyguard Bianca and the maid Lotte, as well as the military command led by Müller.

Elvira is first seen in the episode The Secret of the Witch, where the decision is made to entrust her with the confidential details of Izetta's magical limitations, specifically that a witch's power is drawn from ley lines. Her development throughout the story is tied to her professional function; she evolves from being a private tutor to becoming an essential part of the duchy's strategic communications team. Her notable abilities are not magical or combative but lie in her intelligence, her experience as a reporter, and her talent for public relations. She is a pragmatic and resourceful woman who contributes to the war effort not on the battlefield, but by managing perception and information to rally a nation.
