Description
Norba Shino was a member of the private security company CGS, assigned to its Third Group as a child soldier on Mars. After Gjallarhorn attacked the CGS facility, he joined Orga Itsuka and the other survivors in forming the organization Tekkadan, becoming one of its earliest and most loyal members. Shino was known for his loud, cheerful, and gregarious personality, often joking and maintaining a lighthearted atmosphere even in tense situations. He had a quirky side, naming all of his personal mobile suits "Ryusei-Go" and painting them in a vivid magenta color scheme with a pair of cartoon eyes on the head, believing it boosted the group's fighting spirit.

Despite his easygoing demeanor, Shino cared deeply for his comrades and was willing to take on dangerous or unpleasant tasks without hesitation. He sometimes felt a sense of responsibility to avoid letting others sacrifice themselves, which drove him to volunteer for high-risk missions. His large physique made him naturally skilled at hand-to-hand combat, and he frequently led boarding parties to capture enemy ships. Early in the story, he piloted mobile workers and later a customized Graze, which he modified into the first Ryusei-Go. After Akihiro Altland switched to a Gundam frame, Shino took over the Graze custom and continued to pilot successive versions of the Ryusei-Go, including a Shiden variant. In the second season, he became the captain of Tekkadan's First Working Unit, also known as the Ryusei Unit. He also served as a training instructor for new recruits, showing a stern side when necessary to prepare them for the harsh realities of battle, even if it meant being disliked.

His most significant role came when he was assigned the Gundam Flauros, a long-range artillery Gundam Frame equipped with a pair of powerful rail cannons. This marked a shift from his previous close-combat style to a more support-oriented firepower role. His piloting abilities were enhanced by the Alaya-Vijnana System, which he used to synchronize with his mobile suits. Throughout the series, Shino maintained close friendships with fellow founding members such as Eugene Sevenstark, Orga Itsuka, and Mikazuki Augus. He was also frequently looked after by the maintenance crew member Yamagi Gilmanton, who showed particular concern for him. Shino's loyalty and dedication to Tekkadan remained unwavering until the final battle, where he was one of the first casualties of the Dainsleif railgun barrage used by Rustal Elion's forces. His death highlighted the brutal effectiveness of the weapon and marked the beginning of Tekkadan's collapse. Shino's development from a boisterous street-fighting youth into a responsible captain who took his duties seriously underscored his growth as a character who ultimately put the safety of his family above his own life.
