TV-Series
Description
Azee Gurumin is a skilled mobile suit pilot who serves as a central figure within the Turbines, a civilian transport company and subsidiary of the powerful economic bloc Teiwaz. Her past is largely unspoken, but it is known that she was rescued from difficult or impoverished circumstances years before the main events of the story. After being saved by Naze Turbine, the charismatic leader of the group, she accepted his offer to join his crew and became one of his many wives, a role that signifies her deep loyalty and gratitude rather than a conventional romantic relationship.

Personality wise, Azee is defined by her cool and collected demeanor. Unlike some of the more hot-headed members of her organization, she carries out orders calmly and efficiently, even in the heat of combat. She speaks in a straightforward, no-nonsense manner and possesses a natural aptitude for leadership and instruction. This level-headedness allows her to act as a mentor and a steadying influence for the younger, less experienced members of Tekkadan, the group she later works alongside. Despite her serious approach to duty, she is deeply caring towards her found family and is perceptive about their feelings.

Her primary motivation is loyalty to Naze Turbine and the protection of her crewmates, whom she considers family. This devotion drives her to follow orders without question and to fight fiercely on behalf of the Turbines and their allies. Her role in the story expands significantly when the Turbines form a brotherhood pact with Tekkadan. Following this agreement, she and her partner, Lafter Frankland, are dispatched to help train and protect the younger organization. Azee proves to be an invaluable instructor and a reliable combat ally, fighting alongside Tekkadan in numerous battles.

The relationships Azee forms are the core of her character. Her bond with Naze is one of absolute fealty and respect, forged from her rescue. She is fiercely loyal to him, though she is not beyond keeping a secret from him for the sake of a friend. Her most significant relationship is with Lafter Frankland. They are not only battle partners but also trusted confidants who share an exceptionally close friendship. They frequently fight in sync, travel together, and confide in one another. Azee is so attuned to Lafter that she is the first to realize her friend has fallen in love with the Tekkadan pilot Akihiro Altland. Azee supports this potential relationship, agreeing to keep it a secret from Naze until Lafter is ready. Her relationship with Akihiro is primarily professional, as she helps to train him, but she grows fond of him and dutifully watches over his well-being on and off the battlefield.

Over the course of the narrative, Azee undergoes significant development, primarily through loss. The death of Naze Turbine in a battle orchestrated by the rival Jasley Donomikols is a devastating blow. However, she puts aside her personal grief to take on a leadership role, guiding the surviving members of the Turbines and securing new work for them as a way to honor Naze's memory. She later adopts a white suit and hat, a visual tribute to him. Shortly after, she suffers another profound loss when Lafter is assassinated by Jasley's men. Azee had tried to convince Lafter to join Tekkadan where she would be safer, and after her death, Azee is overcome with guilt and falls ill, blaming herself for leaving her friend alone. Despite these tragedies, she endures, eventually becoming the head of a new transport company comprised of former Turbines members.

As a pilot, Azee possesses notable abilities and is recognized as the ace of the Turbines. Her skill is considerable, making her far more capable than most standard pilots, including some who utilize the Alaya-Vijnana system, which grants enhanced spatial awareness. She is a calm and collected combatant who excels in battle, and her effectiveness is maximized when she fights in tandem with her partner, Lafter. The two are often the first to launch into battle lines, showcasing their courage and tactical importance to the unit. She is known to pilot several mobile suits, including the Hyakuren and the Rouei.
