Description
Maruko Janome is a sixteen-year-old high school girl and a key member of the Kabuki Research Club in her school. She comes from a family with a deep history in kabuki, as her family has owned and operated a kabuki theater in Kyoto for several generations. Because of this upbringing, she has been exposed to the art form since early childhood and possesses an impressive breadth of knowledge about kabuki, which makes her an invaluable asset to the club.
Maruko is generally friendly and lively in disposition, often described as the glue that holds the Kabuki Research Club together. She is genuinely passionate about introducing kabuki to a wider audience and is always willing to lend a hand to her fellow club members. At the same time, she can come across as somewhat anxious or even a little aggressive when she is not yet familiar with someone. This guardedness partly stems from a lack of confidence in her own appearance; she considers herself not particularly attractive and can be sensitive about that point.
