Description
Nejiru Nejiiru is one of the main protagonists of the anime series Heybot! He is a prince hailing from Neji Island, a screw-shaped island nation. His full name is often romanized as Nejiru Nejīru. He is the human partner of Heybot, a Vocabot, and together the pair are known as the Hebo Neji Kombi. Their central mission is to collect special screws called Bokya Neji (or VocaNeji Screws), which allow them to participate in VocaBattles—contests in which competitors use the screws to deliver jokes and puns, with the winner determined by the funniest or most clever punchline.
Nejiru’s background begins on his eleventh birthday, when his father, King Jill Hanazir, presents him with the Screw Soul and a mysterious egg. After chasing down a flying royal screw, Nejiru inserts it into the egg, from which Heybot is born. Eager to prove himself, Nejiru immediately challenges his father to a VocaBattle but is swiftly defeated. As a result, the king exiles Nejiru and Heybot from the castle, tasking them with gathering powerful VocaNeji Screws so that they may eventually return and challenge him again.
In terms of personality, Nejiru is described as a “yurui” prince—a term meaning relaxed or laid-back. He has a deep fondness for screws and possesses a cheerful, easygoing demeanor that complements Heybot’s clumsier, more boisterous nature. His primary motivation is to collect enough screws to win back his place in the kingdom, but he also genuinely enjoys the adventures and odd jobs that he and Heybot take on.
