Mikio is a supporting character in Sweetness and Lightning. He is a kindergarten classmate of Tsumugi Inuzuka, the main child character. He is a young boy with black hair and black eyes. In the series, Mikio is portrayed as mischievous and occasionally gets into misunderstandings with Tsumugi. One notable conflict occurs when he accuses Tsumugi of stealing clay that their friends had given to her, leading to a fight between them. This incident upsets Tsumugi and prompts her father Kouhei and Kotori to cook hamburg steak to cheer her up and help her process her feelings. Later in the manga, Tsumugi and Mikio restore their friendship.
