Description
Haruta Shishamo is an exorcist affiliated with the True Cross Order, specifically serving as a member of the Kyoto Branch Office. Behind his appearance is a young man with unkempt, light-colored hair that typically hangs down over his left eye. He wears the traditional uniform of the Myōō Dharani, a Buddhist exorcist sect, over a white hoodie, reflecting his family's background as members of that organization prior to its merger with the larger True Cross Order.

In terms of personality, Haruta is an exorcist who enjoys demonstrating his abilities and showing off. He carries himself with notable bravery, a trait that leads him to boldly confront powerful adversaries without hesitation. This boldness defines his motivations, as he consistently positions himself at the forefront of dangerous missions. Holding the Knight meister certification, he frequently serves as the spearhead of the battlefield in various operations, taking on the role of a frontline melee combatant.

Within the story, Haruta participates in the Kyoto Branch's offensive during the Impure King revival arc. When the rogue exorcist Saburota Todo appears on the scene, Haruta is among those who move to support Yukio Okumura in the ensuing battle. As part of a squad led by Juzo Shima, Haruta attacks Todo alongside another exorcist named Hajime Narumi. Their objective is to buy sufficient time for Juzo to launch a decisive attack, though both Haruta and Narumi are quickly defeated by Todo's superior combat skills.

Haruta maintains key working relationships within the Kyoto Branch, particularly with Juzo Shima, under whose command he directly serves, and with Hajime Narumi, with whom he fights alongside. His role as a supporting exorcist demonstrates the collaborative nature of the Order's operations. Regarding his development, Haruta does not undergo significant personal transformation within the scope of the Kyoto Saga, instead functioning as a capable but ultimately outmatched member of the exorcist forces. His background as part of the Myōō Dharani suggests a history tied to the traditional exorcist families of Kyoto, but he remains a supporting figure rather than a central character.

Haruta possesses notable abilities that reflect his formal training. He holds both the Knight and Aria meisters, making him a dual-certified exorcist. The Knight meister indicates he is a capable close-quarters fighter, while the Aria meister allows him to recite scriptures and cast spells. By combining these two disciplines, Haruta can enhance his effectiveness in battle, such as casting spells upon his K'rik, a traditional exorcist weapon, to significantly amplify its combat performance. Despite this combination of skills, he proves inferior to the highly skilled Saburota Todo in direct hand-to-hand combat. Outside of his exorcist duties, Haruta enjoys fishing as a hobby.
