Description
Masaki Kimura is an agent of the pharmaceutical conglomerate Sarugaku, where he holds the position of vice‑director in the department responsible for developing biological weapons. He is 36 years old, with a birthday on June 9, and his blood type is AB. He is consistently seen wearing a white suit, and the right side of his face is concealed behind a mask. His personality is characterized by dominance, cruelty, and a strong idealistic streak. He is driven by a singular purpose: to study the beast known as Kagewani and to investigate everyone connected to it, viewing the creature as a means to further Sarugaku’s agenda. In the story of Kagewani -II- (the sequel Kagewani: Shou), Masaki Kimura appears as a supporting figure. Following the aftermath of the first season’s events at Sarugaku headquarters, he remains an active part of the company’s renewed efforts to weaponize the Kagewani and its hybrids. His primary relationship is with Sousuke Banba, the protagonist who opposes Sarugaku’s research, creating a direct antagonistic dynamic. Kimura also interacts with other characters tied to the Kagewani investigation, such as Nagi Yaguru and Jouji Honma, though his interactions are largely professional and driven by corporate interests. Over the course of the sequel, Kimura’s development is limited; he continues to embody the ruthlessness and single‑mindedness that define his role as an obstacle to Banba’s mission. His notable abilities lie in his scientific expertise and his authority within Sarugaku’s biological weapons program, allowing him to orchestrate research and operations concerning the mysterious creatures. He possesses no supernatural powers, relying instead on his intellect, influence, and willingness to employ morally questionable methods to achieve his goals.
